Recently, a video of Emilia Clarke appearing in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been circulating online. This has raised speculation about whether the Game of Thrones actress is indeed part of DC Studios’ newest blockbuster. Clarke is no stranger to genre films, having previously starred in Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well as her iconic role in Game of Thrones.
Furthermore, the British actress has already ventured into the world of superheroes by appearing in the Disney Plus series Secret Invasion for Marvel Studios, a rival of DC. With the ongoing speculation of Clarke replacing Amber Heard in the sequel to Aquaman, many fans are eager to know if there is any validity to these rumors.
Is Emilia Clarke in Aquaman 2?
No, Emilia Clarke is not in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom – either in Heard’s role or as a separate character.

Many DC fans believed that she was Mera due to highly convincing fan-made images circulating online. The most misleading of these is faux concept art by professional artist BossLogic, known for producing unauthorized artwork, whose digital painting of Clarke as Mera was slickly executed enough to fool some fans.
Is Amber Heard still in Aquaman 2?
There is also a strikingly realistic video clip on YouTube showing Clarke replacing Heard in the trailer for the second solo Aquaman movie. Despite being clearly labeled as a deepfake, this footage only contributed to the uncertainty surrounding Clarke’s rumored casting.
Speculation about Clarke replacing Heard in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may have left you questioning whether Heard was actually dismissed from the project. Rest assured, Amber Heard is still part of Aquaman 2. This was confirmed despite Heard's claims during her recent defamation trial that she almost lost her role in the sequel. Former DC Studios, now DC Films, head Walter Hamada later acknowledged that the studio did consider replacing Heard.
Hamada refuted any connection between the discussions and abuse allegations made by Johnny Depp. Instead, he asserted that the reason for the recasting talks was due to Heard's lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa. Additionally, Hamada challenged Heard's claim that Mera had a larger role in the film, which was supported by director James Wan in a later interview. Wan insisted that he always intended the sequel to be a buddy comedy.

As a hard fan of Emilia Clarke, I was thrilled to hear the rumors that she might be joining the cast of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. I've been a fan of her work since Game of Thrones, and I think she would be a great addition to the DC Universe. I was disappointed to learn that the rumors were false, but I'm still excited to see what she does next.
I'm also glad to hear that Amber Heard is still part of the Aquaman 2. I think she's a great actress, and I'm looking forward to seeing her reprise her role as Mera. I'm not sure why there were rumors that she was being replaced, but I'm glad that they were unfounded. I think she and Jason Momoa have great chemistry, and I'm excited to see them team up again.
