The 1994 live-action movie The Flintstones featured a star-studded cast, including John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Halle Berry, Jay Leno, and Elizabeth Taylor in supporting roles.
However, Elizabeth Taylor had specific requirements that needed to be met before agreeing to be a part of the film.
Kyle MacLachlan, known for his role as Cliff Vandercave, shared some behind-the-scenes stories from filming on a recent podcast episode. During the recording, MacLachlan, who is now 65 years old, mentioned how the late actress Elizabeth Taylor had a unique request while on set.
According to MacLachlan, the cast was fantastic, especially with producer Bruce Cohen managing to secure Elizabeth Taylor for the movie. He recalled how Taylor insisted on receiving a gift every day during filming, making the experience even more memorable.
Though MacLachlan tried to continue speaking, Ferguson interrupted him, seemingly astonished by the revelation.

In the scene, John Goodman interrupts and questions, "Wait, wait, wait, stop. She needed to have a gift?"
MacLachlan continued, "And she had to have everything in the dressing room trailers green, with greenery around her."
He mentioned that he heard this information from someone else, but interviews with Cohen in the past support this.
Cohen jokingly said, "[Cohen] probably told me and said, ‘Don’t ever tell anybody that.’ Too late. It’s too late."
He then remembered how shortly after Taylor’s passing in 2011, he had wanted to make the experience “special” for her.
He remembered visiting her house for a wardrobe fitting two weeks earlier. She had drawn him in closely and whispered in his ear, "Sweetheart, I prefer receiving gifts on the first day of shooting." He replied, "Yes, I'm aware of this custom." Then she whispered, "I have a preference for Cartier, darling."
Luckily, Cohen had the approval from Steven Spielberg to fulfill this request.
We didn’t have a budget for an Elizabeth Taylor gift, so I asked Mr. Spielberg, the executive producer, to write me a personal check. I needed the money to go shopping for Elizabeth Taylor. He liked the idea and understood why we couldn’t include it in the budget.
The Flintstones was Taylor’s final movie before she passed away. However, she did take on some TV roles in the late ’90s and early 2000s. In the film, she played Pearl Slaghoople and raised $330,000 for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Taylor was a strong advocate for HIV/AIDS research, using her influence to raise awareness in the 1980s and ’90s.
Taylor died at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure.
