My birthday is in December, and it always reminds me of something my grandmother used to say: "The only alternative to getting older is getting dead." It's a sobering thought, but it definitely puts aging into perspective for me.
These days, people are living longer and more vibrantly, and thats my goal. This weeks newsletter kicks off with two stars who are doing just that.

Dolly Parton and Cher are both making 77 years old look lovely.
They're definitely not your average septuagenarians. Parton is thriving with a new rock album and her recent halftime show at a football game in the iconic Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit. On the same day, Cher performed her new Christmas single "DJ Play a Christmas Song" at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is currently number one on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. If 77 is the new 47, I can't wait to reach that age, especially with so many celebrities in their 70s working, living, and loving with the energy of much younger individuals.
Diana Ross, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Steve Martin, and Samuel L. Jackson are among the stars in their seventies. Let's also acknowledge Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, who will be touring with the Rolling Stones next year. Let's be inspired to keep rocking like they are.

As I previously mentioned, my birthday is approaching and I'm going to pretend that Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter's concert movie is a gift just for me. "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" at a theater near you is a present for everyone, and I'm excited to relive the live music experience from her Atlanta show earlier this year.
The woman has transcended her role as a performer and has become a powerful force of nature. With her directorial role in this film, it seems like Beyoncé is striving for the prestigious EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) distinction. All hail the queen.

Some music podcasts can be hit or miss, but "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics" is definitely a hit. Poet Paul Muldoon's collaboration with Sir Paul McCartney on "The Lyrics: 1965 to Present" is evident in their easy and engaging conversations on this podcast.
Each episode focuses on a McCartney or Beatles song and is billed as "a combination master class, memoir, and improvised journey with one of the most beloved figures in popular music."

Fans of this franchise are incredibly passionate about it. The second of three specials, "Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder," will begin streaming on Disney+ this Saturday. Showrunner Russell T Davies has described it as a journey where the TARDIS goes beyond its previous limits, creating a weird and frightening experience.
