Disney Plus Explores the Creation of an Expansive Kang Universe

Kang Full's webtoon, Moving, achieved great success as a K-drama on Disney Plus in 2023. The show received a lot of positive attention from news outlets, with rumors suggesting that Disney Plus may have even offered Full the chance to create his own universe.

Unbeknownst to them, their parents used to be government secret agents but were forced to go into hiding after being betrayed. Now, as they are being pursued, their parents will do whatever it takes, even becoming the merciless monsters they once were, to protect their children.

The emotionally gripping storyline, exhilarating action scenes, impressive set design, and fresh take on superheroes garnered rave reviews for the K-drama. However, Moving is just one of the many popular webtoons created by Kang Full. The finale of Moving left a hint about the potential adaptation of another one of his webtoons into a thrilling K-drama. With Disney+ reportedly interested in securing a deal with Kang Full, this exciting prospect could soon become a reality.

Kang Full’s other webtoon storylines could land at Disney Plus

Disney+ recently made an offer to Kang Full, providing him with an opportunity to create his own universe based on his other webtoons. The company is presenting a "first-look" agreement to Full, aiming to secure the rights to any present or future content he develops in his webtoons. This offer is influenced by the success and popularity of Full's previous on-screen work, Moving, which includes its cast, set, storyline, execution, and other factors.

Disney+ is reportedly planning to create a Kang Full Universe, with the film Moving serving as the starting point. The reports suggest that there is ample opportunity to further explore the story beyond Moving. Additionally, it has been hinted that one of Full's superhuman characters from his 2006 webtoon Timing will be featured in the film. In the event that Full agrees to the contract, it would involve the adaptation of his webtoons Timing, Again, Shop of the Lamp, and Bridge. However, it may take some time before a definitive answer is given. Full stated that they are currently taking a break until December but will engage in detailed discussions later on.
