Disney Dreamlight Valley: Exiting Early Access in December, No Plans for Free-To-Play Release

Gameloft has announced that Disney Dreamlight Valley, a life simulation game with Disney characters, will launch worldwide on December 5 after over a year of early access. However, there is a significant change in plans. Despite initial plans to make the game free-to-play, Gameloft has decided to shift to a paid model. A blog post on the game's official website explains that this decision was made to prioritize a high-quality gaming experience and to ensure the release of regular free content updates.

Disney Dreamlight Valley's pricing chart will take effect starting from December 5. According to the blog post, this decision is aimed at ensuring that Disney Dreamlight Valley continues to provide an exceptional gaming experience for all players. We are committed to delivering free content updates that will introduce new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and other delightful surprises to enhance your experience in the Valley.

If you purchase the upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley: Cozy Edition on November 10, you will not need to purchase the base game again. This version is confirmed to seamlessly transition into the full release one month later. As a gesture of appreciation for early adoption, owners of Founder's Packs will also have access to the game after its launch. Additionally, they will receive 2,500 Moonstones and extra cosmetics as a thank you.

The blog post announced the game's first-ever paid expansion pass, titled "A Rift In Time." It will be sold separately for $30 starting from December 5. On November 1 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, Gameloft will livestream a complete reveal of the expansion. The livestream will showcase the brand-new adventure taking place on Eternity Isle, where players can meet new characters, explore new environments, and experience exciting new gameplay features.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently available in early access for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The physical Cozy Edition will be released for all consoles on November 10.
