Unfortunately, Tilda Swinton, who played the villain in the first Constantine movie, revealed in a recent interview with Inverse that she will not be reprising her role as Gabriel in Constantine 2. Despite the upcoming DC Universe franchise by James Gunn, DC Studios is also planning to continue their Elseworlds branch with stories set apart from the main continuity. Constantine 2 is one of these projects, set to be a sequel to the 2005 film after almost twenty years.
Only One Original Constantine Actor Is Returning (So Far)
I have to apologize because I don't have much information about the sequel. All I know is that it is in the works. As of now, it seems like Gabriel won't be making an appearance unless they haven't reached out to me yet. There was a rumor going around that Keanu Reeves might be playing Gabriel, which would be really cool.
The Essential Character for Constantine 2
The upcoming sequel for Constantine, directed by Francis Lawrence, has only one confirmed cast member from the original film so far. As of now, Keanu Reeves is the sole actor set to reprise his role in Constantine 2. While progress seems to be made following the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, no other actors have been announced for the sequel at this time.
It wouldn't be surprising if Peter Stormare returns as Lucifer Morningstar in Constantine 2. Stormare sparked Constantine 2 rumors in November 2020 by mentioning that Warner Bros. was apparently working on a sequel. However, there is no official confirmation yet if his character will appear in Constantine 2.
With Gunn's DC Universe currently the main focus for DC Studios, it remains to be seen how the production of the exciting DC movie sequel will unfold. It may take some time before concrete steps like filming begin. For now, we will have to wait and see what happens with Constantine 2.

Editor's P/S:
The news of Tilda Swinton's absence from Constantine 2 is a disappointment, as her portrayal of Gabriel was a highlight of the original film. However, the potential return of Peter Stormare as Lucifer Morningstar offers some solace, as his charismatic performance in the first movie was equally memorable.
The fact that Constantine 2 is part of DC Studios' Elseworlds branch is intriguing, as it suggests that the sequel will have more freedom to explore unique storylines and characters. While the lack of official announcements regarding the cast and plot is somewhat frustrating, it also fuels anticipation for what the future holds for this beloved franchise.
