Following the recent update for Diablo 4, which left some fans disappointed, the optimistic player base has discovered a silver lining amidst the controversial game additions. Diablo 4 faced a rocky start upon its release earlier this year, plagued with numerous controversies. Among the recent controversies is the latest game update, which affected all five classes and increased the difficulty of certain abilities. These changes pose a challenge for casual players who have limited time to play each day. Consequently, casual players are seeking quality of life improvements to enhance their experience in this immersive live-service game.
While the latest Diablo 4 update has received mixed reviews, there is a positive aspect that has gone unnoticed by many. A Reddit user named Crookedparadigm highlighted this hidden gem. They pointed out that the Renown values in Diablo 4 have been boosted for both side quests and dungeons. Previously, side quests offered 20 Renown, but now they provide 30, while dungeons reward 40 Renown instead of the previous 30. These increases in Renown values will streamline the progress for casual players and add more value to completing side missions.
In Diablo 4, players can attain Renown by participating in optional activities across the game world. These activities unlock up to five different levels of Renown in each region of the map. Players have ample opportunities to earn valuable rewards such as skill points, gold, paragon points, and potion expansions. To maximize Renown gains, players should complete all 15 Strongholds located in Sanctuary, earning 100 Renown for each one. Additionally, unlocking World Tier 4 and World Tier 5 is necessary to attain the maximum amount of Renown in the game.
Although Renown does not carry over from the main story, certain elements earned during the campaign do transfer to Season 1 in Diablo 4. Players can rest assured that their progress with the Altar of Lilith and the revealed fog of war will not be lost.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
