In the upcoming season, players will have to confront a formidable vampire ruler who is assembling an army of bloodthirsty vampires. To combat this threat, players must become adept in using vampiric powers.
The Season of Blood introduces exciting additions to the endgame, such as challenging new bosses. It also offers targeted farming opportunities to acquire specific rare and powerful items. Additionally, players can now enjoy the convenience of a Stash filter feature and improved inventory management. All gems will now be relocated to the Materials tab for easier access and organization.
Blizzard announced the release date of October 17, 2023, for the upcoming Season 2 of Diablo 4, titled "Season of Blood." During the Gamescom 2023 trailer, Blizzard also unveiled a new companion, the Vampire Hunter, for players in Diablo 4 Season 2.
Currently, the ongoing season in Diablo 4 is Season of the Malignant, which revolves around a mysterious plague threatening The Sanctuary. Players must work alongside a former priest of the Cathedral of Light to prevent the spread of evil across the land. Blizzard introduced the Seasonal and Eternal Realms in Season 1, along with new items called Malignant Hearts that can be socketed into jewelry, offering four different variants. Furthermore, Blizzard showcased a teaser trailer for the upcoming season at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, along with other updates.
Blizzard's official website has announced the story of Diablo 4 Season of Blood, set to release on October 17. In this season, a powerful dark lord raises an army of vampires to destroy Sanctuary. Players will need to master vampiric abilities and will have a new companion named Erys, voiced by actress Gemma Chan. The season will also introduce a new questline, though it is unclear if it is directly related to the aftermath of Lilith's defeat.
Additionally, Season of Blood will bring 5 new and returning endgame bosses and the ability for players to target farm specific Uniques and Uber Uniques. The highly-requested Stash filter feature will also be added, along with other updates to inventory management, including additional Stash space.
Players initially complained that Gems were occupying too much inventory space when the game was first released. To address this issue, Blizzard announced that Gems in Diablo 4 will be moved to the Materials tab in the future. This update will finally become a reality with Season 2. Additionally, other updates will include revisions to the Vulnerable, Overpower, and Critical Strike damage systems. Moreover, players will be able to carry forward Renown rewards, Skill Points, Paragon Board progress, and Potion charges to the next season if they have achieved them on any previous Eternal or Seasonal character.
Diablo 4 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
