Diablo 4 is packed with numerous side quests, ranging from simple tasks of fetching or killing, to more significant quests that contribute to worldbuilding and narrative progression. The Closing the Book quest in the Hawezar region combines elements of both, as players embark on a brief journey to a tragic disaster site, collecting crucial information along the way.
While many of Diablo 4's side missions are straightforward, those that require finding scattered objects in its desolate world can prove to be quite challenging, if not outright frustrating. To alleviate such difficulties, this guide provides the locations of all the ledger pages for this specific side quest, saving players valuable time and exertion.
Diablo 4: Closing the Book Quest Guide
To begin, players must clear the Eriman's Pyre Stronghold located in the Dismal Foothills. It can be found to the northeast of Wejinhani, near the border of Hawezar and the Fractured Peaks. As players ride towards the map's edge, they will notice the scorched forest that indicates their proximity to Eriman's Pyre.
Once inside the Stronghold, players must eradicate demons by putting the spirits of deceased villagers to rest. To initiate the battle and activate the remaining objectives, players should converse with the Spirit of the Pyre positioned at the center of the village.
Players are required to gather the scattered remains of the slain villagers in order to purge the demon residing in the pyre. The whereabouts of the corpses are indicated by sinister beams of demonic energy in the atmosphere, and they are safeguarded by hordes of Fallen creatures, along with a handful of powerful adversaries.
Once all the corpses have been obtained, proceed to extinguish Eriman's Pyre to initiate the battle against Duz'Agur, also known as Eriman's Bane. This formidable boss is a ghostly entity with devastating attacks capable of swiftly depleting a player's health. Remain positioned behind the boss to evade its barrage of projectiles and gradually chip away at its health until it meets its demise.
In the Closing the Book sidequest, players will be tasked with returning to the previously cleared Eriman's Pyre in search of the missing pages. It is worth noting that the area may still be inhabited by monsters, so players will need to either ride back to the village or utilize an open portal. The map above indicates the locations of the pages, and players must visit each spot, retrieve the ledger pages, and promptly return to Elder Akos in order to successfully finish the side quest.
Upon completing the quest, players will be rewarded with experience points, gold, Renown, and a Salvage Cache that contains a random assortment of upgrade materials.
Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
