Diablo 4 players express dissatisfaction over the need to once again unlock Waypoints, urging for modifications.

The player community feels let down by the Season 1 update and finds it puzzling that Waypoints have been re-locked.

Diablo 4 players are highly dissatisfied with the need to conquer Strongholds repeatedly in order to earn Renown points and are demanding more fulfilling revisions. The decision made by Blizzard to require players to unlock Waypoints from scratch has left the community perplexed, leading to widespread criticism of the Season 1 update. This particular change is deemed illogical by players and has sparked a wave of discontent.

Waypoints in Diablo 4 allow players to quickly travel to different locations in the map. Initially, players had to explore the entire map to unlock these locations and activate Waypoints. While some can still be found through world exploration, others are locked in Strongholds and can only be accessed by conquering that area. The campaign unlocks a few major Waypoints, but most must be manually unlocked by physically traveling to them. However, with the launch of Season 1, previously unlocked Waypoints were locked again, much to the dissatisfaction of the community.

A user on the Diablo 4 subreddit, potionmine, expressed confusion as to why players have to constantly unlock Waypoints they have already activated. They questioned Blizzard's reasoning behind this decision and posed the idea of having to redo the campaign periodically. Many players shared this sentiment and were equally perplexed by the change.

In addition to unlocking Waypoints, players must also conquer all the Strongholds again in Diablo 4 to earn Renown points. These points unlock rewards such as Skill Points and XP. Fortunately, players who had previously completed the strongholds did not have to redo them in order to access the Dungeons in the area. However, players are still questioning Blizzard's reasoning behind this and are calling for a more sensible and rewarding alternative to just earning Renown points.

The Season of the Malignant update in Diablo 4 has generated further frustration among the player community. Many players were unhappy with the nerfing of all characters, as well as reduced XP gains, increased monster health scaling and difficulty, and undisclosed modifications to existing items. This resulted in a surge of negative reviews. In response, Blizzard held an emergency Campfire Chat to reassure fans that they were taking their feedback seriously and would be implementing changes in the near future.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
