Newcastle's winger Harvey Barnes will be out of action until the start of the new year due to a foot injury, as shown by a recent scan. The 25-year-old sustained the injury during Newcastle's dominating 8-0 victory against Sheffield United in the Premier League last Sunday, and had to leave the Bramall Lane pitch after just 12 minutes.
Despite not having broken his foot, the England international will be out for three months while he recovers.

Head coach Eddie Howe announced that the player is expected to be sidelined for approximately three months due to an injury beneath his toe. Fortunately, surgery is not necessary, but he will be wearing a boot to support his foot. The player has already begun his recovery but will need to take it easy in order to give his toe the best opportunity to heal. Once he is ready, his rehabilitation will be gradually intensified over time, explaining the projected three-month recovery period.
Howe is concerned about the fitness of strike pair Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, along with doubts surrounding defender Sven Botman ahead of Burnley's Premier League visit on Saturday.
"Callum Wilson is dealing with a slight hamstring tightness. We will give him ample opportunity to be fit for the match. Likewise, we will assess Sven closer to the game."
On Isak, Howe added: "He's another one we'll need to make a late check on. That's the cost of having three games in a week - it's usually the third game where these things build up."
