Dennis Quaid and Laura Savoie’s relationship has been met with adversity over the years, but they’ve only come out stronger.
Quaid had been married three times before meeting Savoie, a 26-year-old Ph.D. student at the University of Texas, in 2019. His first marriage was to P.J. Soles from 1978-1983, followed by actress Meg Ryan in 1991. They had a son named Jack before divorcing in 2001.
In 2004, Quaid married Kimberly Buffington, and they had twins named Thomas and Zoe in 2007. However, their relationship ended in 2018.

Quaid's relationship with model Santa Auzina came to an end, and he is now dating Savoie, as confirmed exclusively by Us. At the time, Quaid was 65 years old. Savoie, a highly accomplished individual, holds a master's degree from the University of Notre Dame and graduated with honors as valedictorian from Pepperdine University in 2015.
Though her Instagram was private at the time, Savoie wrote that she was in “love” with Quaid alongside an Instagram photo of the two of them kissing.
October 2019
After less than a year of dating, Quaid surprised Savoie by proposing to her in Hawaii. It was a spontaneous and surprising moment for her, as Quaid had been planning it for about a month and a half. He wanted the proposal to be private and chose the northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay, to get down on one knee. Interestingly, Savoie was in the middle of taking a selfie with him when he asked for her hand in marriage.
According to a source, the engagement ring that Savoie received is a vintage piece designed by Giorgio Bulgari. The ring features an old mine-cut cushion diamond, estimated to be five centuries old. The insider shared that Giorgio met Savoie and Quaid in Tuscany and then they planned to travel to Geneva where he resides with his family. During a dinner in Geneva, Giorgio showed them various stones, with Laura's ring being the last one presented.

One month after their engagement news, Quaid expressed his and Savoie’s indifference to the criticism surrounding their nearly 40-year age difference. In an interview with The Guardian, Quaid stated that the opinions of others do not affect them. He acknowledged that everyone has their own perspective and he cannot retaliate or become angered by their judgment. Quaid emphasized that he did not actively seek out a relationship with a significant age gap or someone younger. Their connection began at a business event and subsequently evolved into a romantic relationship. Ultimately, Quaid emphasized that love is unpredictable and uncontrollable, and one cannot choose who they fall in love with.

Laura and Dennis have decided to delay their wedding, citing "travel issues" rather than the coronavirus, according to a source. Quaid later mentioned in an interview that they were currently staying at home, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to exchange vows. He explained that they made this decision due to some family and friends having compromised immune systems as a result of medical treatment or ongoing medical issues, and thus it was best to postpone the wedding.
April 2020
During an exclusive interview with Us, Quaid described quarantining with Savoie as "the ultimate preparation for marriage." Although it was somewhat disappointing to have to alter their original wedding arrangements, Quaid emphasized that he and the registered yoga instructor were cherishing the anticipation of their upcoming nuptials on a daily basis.

The couple's representative confirmed to Us that they had exchanged vows in a private ceremony held at a scenic beachside resort in Santa Barbara, California. Quaid spoke fondly of the event, describing it as a beautiful affair. He expressed his awe at the sight of his bride, emphasizing her stunning appearance. For this momentous occasion, the Strange World actor opted for a Hugo Boss suit, while Savoie adorned herself in an elegant Chosen by One Day dress.

The duo followed up their wedding with a trip to Montana. “Dennis and Laura are on their honeymoon right now and his children are with them,” another source shared with Us.
