The Reimagining of Batman in the DC Universe
A new fan-cast for the role of Bruce Wayne's Batman in DC Studios' upcoming The Brave and the Bold has been imagined in brilliant DC Universe artwork. Following his hiring as co-CEO of DC Studios in November 2022, alongside producer Peter Safran, James Gunn revealed that the crime-fighting Batman would be reimagined after the DCEU's reboot into the DC Universe, with The Brave and the Bold acting as his new big screen debut.

Despite no release date being announced, casting rumors for The Brave and the Bold have been rife, with several notable actors being suggested for the role of the new Caped Crusader. With no confirmation from DC Studios regarding Batman's casting in the DC Universe, new fan-casts seem to constantly present themselves, including one now picturing Eric Bana as Bruce Wayne. Shared by Kode Abdo, Eric Bana is depicted as Bruce Wayne's Batman in new DCU fan art, sporting a suit as the Wayne Enterprises owner, while shadowed by the image of the iconic Batman costume.
Eric Bana joins a long list of actors who have been suggested for the DCU's Batman, and his previous roles in action, comedy and superhero stories perhaps set him up perfectly to be the new Dark Knight, though he is far from the favorite contender.

Rumored Actors for the DCU's Batman
While many expressed disappointment that Ben Affleck would not continue portraying Bruce Wayne in the DC Universe, particularly after his character's mistreatment in the DCEU and snubbed solo project, there has been a huge amount of excitement to see a new actor don the cape and cowl. Several high-profile actors have been rumored to be attached to The Brave and the Bold, but James Gunn debunked these DCU rumors in August 2023, noting that there isn't even a completed script for the upcoming project.
Nevertheless, fan-casts have been abundant for the coveted role in the rebooted franchise, and some of them are simply perfect. Perhaps the most popular fan-cast for Batman places Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne's Batman, which was exacerbated after his fan-favorite spin on The Boys and Gen V as Soldier Boy. However, the likes of Steve Jobs' Michael Fassbender, Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Game of Thrones' Richard Madden, Euphoria's Jacob Elordi and even The Office's John Krasinski have been rumored for the role of Batman, each being depicted in some stellar fan art.

More recently, Reacher's Alan Ritchson has expressed interest in portraying Batman in The Brave and the Bold, though viewers will likely have to wait a while before any official casting news is announced.
