Da'Vine Joy Randolph and her wardrobe are highlights of HBO's The Idol. As Destiny, the no-nonsense manager of pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), she sports a bold and fierce style throughout the season.
Randolph's character is often seen in black leather trench coats, Gucci corsets, platform heels, and stylish sunglasses. She accessorizes her outfits with statement jewelry, bold makeup, and intricate hairdos, making her a standout fashion icon on the show.
Destiny’s confident style matched perfectly with Randolph's own bold fashion sense, captivating fans who eagerly watched each week. Surprisingly, most of the outfits worn on the show actually came from Randolph's personal wardrobe.
During an interview with NPR on Tuesday, February 27, Randolph revealed that she often chose to wear her own clothes on TV because of the fast-paced nature of the industry and her specialty size. Instead of waiting for custom pieces, she simply picked items from her closet or purchased new ones without any hesitation.
Randolph’s off-camera style is just as good as what she wears on the big and small screen.

Prior to that, at the BAFTAs, she graced the event in a Robert Wun creation that made her look like royalty. The dress featured gathered peach fabric at the bodice that elegantly cascaded into a train.
Randolph’s fashion isn’t the sole reason she’s in the spotlight this awards season. She’s been on a winning streak lately, scoring a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice Award, and a BAFTA for her portrayal of Mary in The Holdovers.
During her acceptance speech at the SAG Awards, she expressed her gratitude for being a working actor. She humbly accepted the accolade from her fellow artists, considering it the highest praise of her career. Randolph also took a moment to acknowledge the support of her loved ones, who have helped shape every role she has taken on.
She was also announced as an Oscar nominee ahead of the March 10 ceremony.
