Is there a Daredevil Born Again release date?
Daredevil: Born Again doesn’t have a release date right now.
There is a strong desire among Marvel fans to see Daredevil return in his own show. According to Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was anticipated to debut on Disney+ in Spring 2024. As of now, no specific date has been revealed.
Variety first reported news of the show in May. Writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord were originally set to write a new season of Daredevil for the MCU after Disney acquired the show’s rights in 2020. However, the show's creative team has been let go in an effort to give the MCU format a "creative reboot."
The Illuminerdi leaked that the show was scheduled to film in New York City from February to December 2023. However, production on the show was halted in May 2023 due to the ongoing Writers Guild strike, potentially delaying the show's release.
Is there a Daredevil Born Again trailer?
No, there isn’t a trailer for Daredevil Born Again at the time of writing, but we’ll update this space once it’s shared online.
However, you can stream all of Netflix’s Daredevil on Disney+ and catch Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the last two episodes of She-Hulk.
Daredevil Born Again cast and crew
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their roles in Daredevil Born Again. The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed that they will be returning for Echo, a spin-off series centered on the villain Echo, who first appeared in Hawkeye. The show will feature a storyline involving Daredevil looking for his fellow Defender hero, Jessica Jones.
Michael Gandolfini, son of the late James Gandolfini, has been cast in a significant role in #DaredevilBornAgain, as reported by Deadline. He previously played a young version of his father's iconic TV character in The Many Saints of Newark, a Sopranos prequel.
ScreenTime (@screentime) tweeted on December 2, 2022 that Margarita Levieva (The Acolyte) and Sandrine Holt (Homeland) have not yet confirmed their roles. However, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Holt will be replacing Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, marking the first recasting of a major character from the Netflix series.
Additionally, there is speculation that She-Hulk will make an appearance in Daredevil to reciprocate his appearance in her own show. Fans are eager to see the two characters interact more in the future, as their chemistry and relationship were well-received. Actor Charlie Cox has expressed his openness to this cameo, stating in an interview with Metro: "I’ve made it no secret that I’m a huge fan of Tatiana’s, and the fun we had on She-Hulk was some of the best fun I’ve had as that character. I thought she was amazing as Jennifer Walters, and I would be a huge advocate of her showing up in our show if she’s free and available and willing and all of those things. So I would love for that to happen. I have no idea if that is possible."
Recent reports from The Hollywood Reporter confirm that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in the series. However, there is uncertainty about whether Deborah Ann Woll or Elden Henson will return as Karen Page or Foggy Nelson.
Cox suggested that there could be future appearances by other MCU characters, but he is firm in not having any confirmed information: "I haven't seen any script details. So I'm not sure. I have no clue. But the exciting thing about the future of the Daredevil show is that previously, during our time on Netflix, we were limited in our ability to have crossovers, apart from the characters within the Netflix Marvel world that we were familiar with."
"Now, the possibilities are endless, and as a huge fan of the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I find it thrilling that we now have the opportunity for cameos from other characters that were previously off-limits."
Daredevil Born Again plot: What will it be about?
D’Onofrio expressed to the Post-Credits Podcast that Born Again will maintain the same mature tone and atmosphere as Echo, which is set to debut on Disney Plus in January 2024. He remarked, "The level of attention the top executives are devoting to it is remarkable. Charlie and I are truly impressed by their dedication to this series."
The plot of Daredevil Born Again has not been officially confirmed at this time. However, in the show titled Daredevil: Born Again, it is expected that we will witness Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk facing off once again in their ongoing battle for Hell’s Kitchen. There is also speculation that the legendary villain Bullseye may make an appearance, as Season 3 hinted at his potential rise to power.
The show may potentially disregard the Netflix canon, as actor Cox commented, "Every now and again, they start back at the beginning of Murdock’s journey as a little boy and they tell the whole origin story again. So maybe we’ll get to do that, I don’t know." Cox also mentioned that the series has a lengthy commitment of 18 episodes.
There is a major concern among fans that the show will be altered to accommodate the Disney audience. Although Cox has reassured fans that it will still have a dark tone, he also acknowledged that it will be "less gory" than the Netflix series.
In a recent interview with Newsweek, Vincent D'Onofrio disclosed that the storylines introduced in Daredevil: Born Again would carry over into a potential second season. He hinted at significant payoffs for fans, stating, "By the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs...the fans are gonna really get what they want."
Daredevil Disney Plus: What’s happened in the show so far?
Rumors are circulating that D’Onofrio’s Kingpin might kick off his bid for mayor in New York in either Echo or Daredevil Season 1. It's being speculated that this campaign would focus on cracking down on "vigilante" heroes in New York such as Daredevil, Kate Bishop, and Spider-Man. D’Onofrio also suggested at a recent panel that he believes he will "eventually kick Spider-Man’s ass," fueling speculation that a Mayor Fisk storyline could be in the works.
Daredevil Season 1
Daredevil's live-action history so far: Born Again will mark the hero’s first standalone series in the MCU, despite previous appearances on the hit Netflix show and the first season of She-Hulk. For those who may have missed these appearances, here’s a quick recap.
Daredevil Season 2
The first season of Daredevil on Netflix laid the groundwork for the character's story. We were introduced to his close friend Foggy Nelson, future colleague Karen Page, and Matt Murdock’s mentor, Stick. Wilson Fisk is manipulating the gangs of New York in his quest to claim Hell’s Kitchen and the city at large for his own. Fortunately, Murdock emerges victorious and is able to send Fisk to prison, at least for the time being.
Season 2 is when things begin to get violent. The Punisher, a ruthless vigilante, is targeting the mob, eliminating one member at a time. His approach to fighting crime may be similar to Daredevil's, but their views on justice are in conflict.
As if that isn't challenging enough, Daredevil also finds himself facing The Hand, a secretive group linked to his former love interest, Elektra Natchios.
Daredevil Season 3
Following a near-death experience in The Defenders, Matt Murdock sustains serious injuries. As he recuperates in the darkness of Hell’s Kitchen, Wilson Fisk strikes a bargain with the FBI to ensure the safety of his beloved, Vanessa.
Eventually, Fisk is released from prison and embarks on a mission to restore his reputation to the citizens of New York. During his journey, Fisk crosses paths with troubled NYPD officer Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter, also known as Bullseye. Murdock must confront his inner struggles and truly embody the hero that Hell’s Kitchen desperately needs in order to defeat them both.
Marvel Studios, NetflixBullseye’s introduction in season three was a standout moment in the MCU.

Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I'm thrilled about the return of Daredevil in "Born Again." Charlie Cox's portrayal of the character was exceptional, and I can't wait to see him bring Daredevil back to life on Disney+. The gritty and intense tone of the original Netflix series was a major draw for me, and I'm excited to see how it translates to the MCU. The potential for Daredevil to interact with other MCU characters, such as She-Hulk, is also incredibly exciting.
However, I do have some concerns about the show. The delay in production due to the Writers Guild strike is a bit worrying, and I hope it doesn't affect the quality of the show. Additionally, the recasting of Vanessa Fisk is a bit disappointing, as I felt that Ayelet Zurer did a great job in the role. Overall, I'm cautiously optimistic about "Daredevil: Born Again," and I hope it lives up to the high expectations set by the original series.
