The highly-anticipated game, Cyberpunk 2077, has finally been released after years of anticipation. Despite the less-than-ideal launch, many dedicated players are determined to see the game through to its conclusion. To assist those striving to unlock all of the Cyberpunk 2077 achievements, it is crucial to understand the number of possible endings and how to unlock them.
It is important to mention that while spoilers have been minimized, there may still be minor spoilers within this article that could potentially impact one's experience of the game's ending. Fortunately, most of these spoilers are not missable, and even after completing the game once, players have the option to reload and achieve the remaining endings.
Updated October 27, 2023 by Erik Petrovich, the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion brings significant changes to the base game. The new content, included in Phantom Liberty, has a profound impact on Night City and offers players access to a new ending. Previously, most of Cyberpunk 2077's endings were determined by a choice made at the end of act 2, leading to the conclusion of the game's story. However, with Phantom Liberty, a new ending has been introduced that takes V in a completely different direction. Regrettably, this DLC only includes one additional ending. To unlock the Phantom Liberty ending, players must accomplish more than simply completing the DLC's main story.
Cyberpunk 2077: How Many Endings Are There?
Cyberpunk 2077 and its DLC, Phantom Liberty, offer players the chance to unlock seven different endings. Additionally, each of the main endings in Cyberpunk 2077 has its own corresponding achievement that can be obtained.
There are multiple endings available in Cyberpunk 2077, including the main ending, three unlockable endings with specific requirements and dialogue choices, a bonus unfinished ending, the secret ending, and the ending exclusive to the Phantom Liberty DLC. During the "Nocturne Op55N1" mission, players have a discussion with Johnny Silverhand where they "choose" which ending they will experience. Once the choice is made, players progress through a few missions before reaching the final conclusion, with their chosen path locked in.
Be sure to keep a save file just before making a choice at the end of the game to experience all of the endings, and unlock all of the ending-related achievements.
Cyberpunk 2077 Standard Endings
For the four basic endings, players will need to make certain choices in the above conversation, as well as having certain questlines done.
The Devil (Default Ending)Select: Think trusting Arasaka's risky but worth it
Default ending which has no requirements to unlock.
Seeking Panam's assistance is a possibility I am considering.
This choice in dialogue is exclusively accessible to individuals who have successfully completed Panam's entire side quest. (These quests are also the prerequisites for pursuing a romantic relationship with Panam in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.)
Upon choosing this option, it branches out into two additional potential conclusions, depending on the decision made by players during the Alt Cunningham dialogue sequence:
Option 1: "Desire to live whatever life I have left" (The Star)
Option 2: "The body belongs to Johnny. I will depart" (Temperance)
The SunSelect: Think you and Rogue should go
This ending is only available by completing Johnny and Rogue's questline, starting with Tapeworm and ending in Blistering Love.
Finding Johnny Silverhand's items overlap some here, and finding them all is helpful but not required.
Cyberpunk 2077 Bonus Ending – Path of Least Resistance
Engaging in a set of decisions during the previous conversation with Johnny Silverhand can lead to an additional ending, one that doesn't conclude substantially and resembles the hidden conclusions in Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5. To solidify this ending, players must make a selection from the predetermined choices mentioned above and subsequently validate it with Johnny.
Instead of confirming it, players also have the option to put all this to rest. By choosing to do so and following through, Cyberpunk 2077 immediately comes to an end as V tosses their pills away. This action puts an end to all the unresolved storylines, leaving players with lingering thoughts as the credits roll before their time.
Cyberpunk 2077 Secret Ending – Don't Fear The Reaper
To unlock the secret ending, Don't Fear the Reaper, players must carefully navigate through specific choices and establish a particular connection with Johnny Silverhand. When the option to "think you and Rogue should go" is selected, a series of follow-up choices will appear. However, instead of proceeding with these options, players need to exercise patience and remain on this screen for approximately 5 minutes. By doing so, the hidden ending will be revealed.
The specific requirements for achieving this ending are still somewhat unclear, but ultimately, players aim to have a relationship percentage with Johnny Silverhand that exceeds 70%. This progress can be observed in the pause menu, where it is represented by the middle icon.
Additionally, players must successfully complete both the Johnny Silverhand and Rogue sidequests, which entail locating his possessions and making optimal choices during the Chippin' In sidequest. It is believed that making specific choices during this quest is crucial for unlocking the ending. However, there is some debate within the Cyberpunk 2077 community regarding this matter. Nonetheless, players pursuing this ending should prioritize elevating the relationship bar and accomplishing the mentioned quests in order to gain access to this particular outcome.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Ending – The Tower
To unlock the Phantom Liberty ending in Cyberpunk 2077, players need to make certain decisions that guarantee the survival of a key character and their subsequent capture. In the Firestarter quest, players must choose between assisting Songbird's escape or aiding Reed in capturing Songbird. If players choose to help Songbird, they will later need to hand her over to Reed in order to unlock the new ending. Alternatively, if players choose to side with Reed, they only need to ensure to spare Songbird when the opportunity arises.
After the expansion concludes and the credits for Phantom Liberty finish, players will receive a communication from Reed. Following this, the alternative ending will unfold, which is often regarded as the "good" ending, or at least as close to it as one can anticipate in a setting such as Night City and within V's life.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently accessible on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with ongoing development for versions compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X.
