Colman Domingo's husband, Raúl Domingo, has been a constant presence in his life since the early days of his career. Their bond has only grown stronger over the nearly 20 years they have spent together.
"We've grown to be even better friends and supporters," Colman, 54, shared exclusively with We at the TIME100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, April 25. "We are like family, and it's truly special to witness each other's growth and journey together. It's a beautiful thing."
Colman mentioned, "He's the person I love the most in the world."
It's worth noting that Colman's career has flourished over the past 10 years since tying the knot with Raúl in 2014. He became part of the Fear the Walking Dead cast in 2015 and later became a main cast member by season 2. Additionally, he has made appearances on Euphoria, Bojack Horseman, Lucifer, and American Dad.
Colman and Raúl met through a Craigslist "missed connections" ad. Colman saw Raúl outside a Walgreens in 2005 and was intrigued. He waved at Raúl, but Raúl didn't notice and walked away. Later, Colman went on Craigslist to post an ad about their encounter, only to discover that Raúl had already posted one about him.

While reading, he reached page 2 and came across a message that said, “Saw you outside of Walgreens. Berkeley.” This incident was shared by him on The Graham Norton Show, where he mentioned that the ad was placed for him just two hours prior.
Nearly twenty years later, Colman is now promoting his new film Sing Sing. The movie is inspired by the actual Sing Sing prison and its Rehabilitation Through the Arts program. In the film, Colman acts alongside Paul Raci, Sean San Jose, Sharon Washington, and Clarence Macklan Jr., whom Colman predicts will become a superstar.
Describing the film, Colman says, "It’s like a Shakespearean brotherhood story. It’s funny, weird, lively, and beautiful. We filmed it in a small, meaningful way."
Sing Sing made its debut at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and is set to hit theaters in the United States this July. The film has been well-received, boasting an impressive 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
