CNN Predicts Trump Victory in North Dakota GOP Caucuses

Former President Donald Trump is projected to win North Dakota’s Republican presidential caucuses, according to CNN. This victory serves as a final boost before the campaign moves on to 15 states on Super Tuesday.

This marks the third consecutive primary win for the former president in the state. In 2020, he ran unopposed after previously defeating Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich four years ago.

Trump, always a favorite, received the endorsement of North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Burgum, who was a former 2024 campaign rival, dropped out of the race in December but decided to back Trump just before the Iowa caucuses. As a result, the former president will gather all of the state party's 29 delegates, bringing him closer to the 1,215 needed to secure the presumptive GOP nominee position.

North Dakota has consistently voted for the Republican candidate in the last 14 presidential elections. The state has not supported a Democrat since Lyndon B. Johnson's victory in 1964, where he defeated Barry Goldwater with over 60% of the national vote. In the 2020 election, Trump won over Biden in North Dakota by a margin of more than 30 points.
