Claudia Oshry is unhappy with Kyle Cooke's remarks about Craig Conover investing in her and husband Ben Soffer's drink company, Spritz Society.
Cooke, who is 41 years old, stated that Conover, aged 35, was not truthful with him regarding his involvement with Spritz Society while on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, May 23. (Cooke has his own beverage brand called Loverboy.)
Cooke expressed his well wishes but was disappointed by how the situation was handled, without going into detail. He mentioned feeling uneasy about the way things unfolded and emphasized his desire to remain positive. Cooke also mentioned feeling deceived, as he believed the person in question had a history of dishonesty.
In response, Claudia, 29, addressed the situation on the "The Toast" podcast she co-hosts with her sister Jackie Oshry. She mentioned that Cooke had omitted important information from his side of the story. Additionally, it was revealed that Conover had recently become an investor in Spritz Society, a company affiliated with the podcast.
Claudia originally wasn't planning on discussing [Watch What Happens Live], but after receiving multiple messages in the morning about Cooke's comments on the aftershow, she felt compelled to address the situation. She stated that Cooke had made false statements, not about her, but about two individuals she deeply cares about.
Feeling the need to provide clarity, the social media personality decided to share additional information about Spritz's collaboration with Conover that Cooke had reportedly omitted during his conversation with Andy Cohen.
Claudia revealed on Watch What Happens Live that she has evidence to back up her claims against Loverboy. She stated, "I have all the facts, dates, timestamps, and receipts to support my allegations." One key piece of information she highlighted was that Loverboy is Kyle's company and he does not take on investors.
She explained that her company thrives by working with investors and believes in compensating talent. Claudia mentioned that the opportunity for Conover to join her team arose naturally when she and her husband met him at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour last summer. They bonded over Spritz beverages on a party bus filled with influencers heading to the concert.
Claudia revealed that Conover was enjoying the drinks without knowing that she and Soffer were the owners at that time. It was only after he became friends with Soffer that he found out. When Conover eventually learned this, Claudia mentioned that the Southern Charm star expressed interest in getting involved.
According to Claudia, on Friday, "Nobody was thinking about Kyle, nobody thinks about Kyle and Loverboy." She emphasized that there are many canned cocktail companies, even bigger ones than theirs, and it is possible for multiple brands to be successful simultaneously.
Claudia didn’t see Conover's involvement in the brand as a big issue, but she mentioned that Conover felt it was important to inform Cooke beforehand. He also wanted to give Cooke the opportunity to reconsider his potential investment decision.
According to Claudia, Craig took Kyle out to dinner not the day before the announcement, but more than a week before. During the dinner, Craig informed Kyle about his partnership with Ben and 'The Toast' girls. He also offered Kyle the chance to invest in Loverboy instead of proceeding with the partnership.
Claudia mentioned that Cooke declined Conover's offer because he does not take on investors. She also noted that Conover is knowledgeable about managing his finances and was interested in investing in a beverage brand.
In response to the situation, Claudia expressed her support for Conover, stating that he acted in a fair and honest manner by giving Cooke the first right of refusal. She defended Conover against accusations of dishonesty on the show, emphasizing his integrity and strong work ethic, particularly in his relationship with girlfriend Paige Desorbo.
Conover has not responded to Cooke's latest remarks, but he did mention Spritz Society's rivalry with Loverboy in a recent interview with Page Six. He acknowledged the challenges of the alcohol industry, saying he would have been interested in investing in Loverboy if given the opportunity.
