Chronicles of Love: A Look into the Dating Lives of the 'Gilmore Girls' Cast

Gilmore Girls costars Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia had a romantic relationship both within and beyond the confines of the television show. In the beloved series from the 2000s, Bledel portrayed Rory Gilmore while Ventimiglia portrayed Jess Mariano. Both on-screen and off-screen, their characters had an on-again, off-again romance. It is worth mentioning that the actors themselves were in a relationship for a period of four years before ultimately parting ways in 2006.

Bledel eventually married Vincent Kartheiser, her Mad Men costar, in 2014. Three years later, when she received an Emmy nomination for her performance in The Handmaid's Tale, Ventimiglia, the hunk from This Is Us, reaffirmed their longtime friendship.

'Gilmore Girls' Cast's Dating Histories Through the Years: Alexis Bledel, Milo Ventimiglia and More

Gilmore Girls costars Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventimiglia shared a romance both on and off the small screen.

Rory Gilmore and Jess Mariano, played by the pair, had an on-and-off relationship during the 2000s series. In real life, they were in a relationship for four years before separating in 2006.

Bledel eventually married Vincent Kartheiser, her costar from Mad Men, in 2014. Three years later, when she received an Emmy nomination for her work on The Handmaid's Tale, the This Is Us actor demonstrated that they were still good friends by showing support.

In October 2023, we exclusively revealed that Ventimiglia had quietly tied the knot with Jarah Mariano in an intimate ceremony, with their loved ones and close friends in attendance.

Alexis Bledel

Bledel and Ventimiglia dated for four years while working on the series before breaking up in June 2006. There were also rumors of a romance between Bledel and Padalecki. Before starting a relationship with Kartheiser in 2012, the Tuck Everlasting actress was briefly linked to British model John Paul. After a year of being engaged, Bledel and Kartheiser got married in June 2014. The couple now has a son together.

In August 2022, it was reported by Us that Kartheiser has filed for divorce after being married for eight years.

Lauren Graham

In 2010, the Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist star developed feelings for her Parenthood colleague Peter Krause, more than ten years after their initial meeting. They resided together in Los Angeles alongside his son, Roman, whom he shares with former girlfriend Christine King, for over a decade before ultimately parting ways. In June 2022, it was confirmed by Us that Graham and Krause had broken up one year earlier.

Scott Patterson

Patterson tied the knot with Kristine Saryan in 2014, and that very year they celebrated the arrival of their son Nicholas. Their paths crossed back in 2001, and ever since then, Saryan would occasionally make brief appearances in the background of Gilmore Girls episodes, adding a touch of magic to their love story.

Jared Padalecki

Back in October 2009, the actor known for his role in Supernatural popped the question to his fellow cast member, Genevieve Cortese. Their wedding took place in Idaho in February 2010, and over the years, they became proud parents to three beautiful children. Their firstborn, Thomas, came into the world in March 2012, followed by Austin in December 2013, and lastly, Odette in March 2017.

While chatting with Glamour in February 2021, Padalecki confirmed he and Bledel had a “silly” flirtation on the Gilmore Girls set. “It wasn’t anything super juicy,” he joked.

Milo Ventimiglia

Following his split from Bledel in June 2006, Ventimiglia embarked on a new relationship with Hayden Panettiere. The couple, known for their collaboration on NBC's Heroes, were romantically involved from December 2007 to February 2009. Subsequently, Ventimiglia was romantically linked to Isabella Brewster, Kelly Egarian, and Diane Guerrero from Orange Is the New Black, before ultimately exchanging vows with Jarah Mariano in 2023.

Ben Falcone and the actress, who received an Oscar nomination, tied the knot in 2005. In November 2006, Paul Adelstein and the Scandal alum got married. They later acted together in Order Up (2007), Little Fish, Strange Pond (2008), and The Missing Person (2008).
