The McCaffrey NFL legacy is set to continue as Christian McCaffrey's younger brother, Luke McCaffrey, joins the Washington Commanders. Luke, a 23-year-old wide receiver, was drafted in the third round on Friday, April 26.

Christian, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, was one of the first to celebrate his brother's team placement.

"Couldn't be more proud of my brother @mccaffrey_luke," Christian, 27, shared on Saturday, April 27. "What a story. Always believe in yourself every step of the way. What a journey."

The McCaffrey brothers come from a football family. Christian was drafted as the eighth overall pick in 2017. Their parents are Lisa and Ed McCaffrey. Ed, a former wide receiver, won a Super Bowl and played for teams like the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and the 49ers. Lisa and Ed have four sons - Max, Christian, Dylan, and Luke - all of whom have football in their blood.

Max McCaffrey, 29, used to be part of the Oakland Raiders in 2016. He later transitioned to coaching with the Miami Dolphins. Dylan McCaffrey, 25, currently plays college football at the University of North Colorado.

The McCaffrey family showed their support for Christian at Super Bowl LVIII in February, where they watched the game from a private suite along with his fiancée, Olivia Culpo. (Olivia, a 31-year-old model, surprised Lisa and the rest of the family with box seats since they had trouble affording the expensive tickets in Las Vegas.)

Even though Christian scored multiple touchdowns during the game, the 49ers ultimately lost in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Culpo took to TikTok a few days later to express her mixed emotions. She felt sad about the outcome but grateful for the chance to see someone she loves pursuing his passion and putting in effort to improve every day.

In conclusion, she expressed her pride in Christian and thanked everyone for their love and support throughout the year, emphasizing how much it meant to her.

Christian and Culpo, who got engaged in April 2023, are currently busy with planning their wedding before the start of his 49ers training camp in the summer.

A source shared exclusively with We in February that the couple plans to have the ceremony during the offseason. The theme they are going for is elegant and luxurious. Olivia had some difficulty choosing the perfect dress, given that she has worn many gowns in the past. However, she has finally found the one!

The nuptials are set to take place in Culpo’s native Rhode Island but a date has not been publicly shared.
