Chris Pine's fashion choices have been a reflection of his outlook on life. Lately, the 43-year-old actor has been sporting a quirky style, featuring short shorts, old-school tees, cozy cardigans, and Birkenstocks. This new look has been on display as he promotes his latest movie and directorial debut, Poolman.

In the movie, Pine plays the role of Darren Barrenman, a pool cleaner in Los Angeles known for his floppy hats and micro swim trunks. Darren takes care of the pool at the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and works hard to improve his hometown. One day, he is approached by a mysterious woman who asks for his help in uncovering a shady business deal.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, May 9, Pine talked about his recent change in fashion. When asked if he has started dressing like Darren in real life, Pine explained that he simply enjoys dressing comfortably in Los Angeles. He believes in having a good time and making the most of life, even if it means wearing funky clothes like lemon pants that make you laugh.

Kimmel then wanted Pine to explain the details of his outfit for the Poolman premiere in the previous month. Pine wore an "I Heart L.A." shirt underneath a linen blazer with a single flower on the lapel.

He paired the pieces with corduroy shorts, retro tube socks and brown hiking boots.

He mentioned being from Los Angeles and also highlighted his corduroys, which he purchased for $5 and has owned for many years. Pine's wardrobe is influenced by Tom Selleck, known for his love of short shorts. Pine mentioned this while talking about the bright red cropped pants he wore at Langer's Deli in April. Additionally, Pine enjoys life in L.A. and having a good time.
