Choso's unexpected alliance with Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya Incident arc sparks intrigue Is there a hidden connection between Yuji and Choso? Find out the truth behind their collaboration

Ever since the beginning of the Shibuya Incident arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, the anime has been filled with numerous intense battles. One such battle was between Yuji Itadori and Choso. Despite emerging victorious, Choso ultimately chose not to kill Yuji after experiencing a flood of manufactured memories depicting Yuji as his brother. With Choso ending the encounter without hostility, the question arises: will he now become Yuji's ally?

Choso is one of the three reincarnated Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. Upon discovering that Yuji and Kugisaki had slain his younger brothers, Kechizu and Eso, he sought vengeance by planning to eliminate the two jujutsu sorcerers. However, after besting Yuji, Choso's mind became inundated with false recollections portraying Yuji as one of his own siblings, leading him to spare Yuji's life.

After his confrontation with Yuji Itadori, Choso found himself grappling with confusion regarding his connection to the Jujutsu Sorcerer. His false memories, particularly Yuji being labeled as one of his younger brothers, weighed heavily on his mind. However, after pondering over his uncertainty for some time, Choso ultimately makes the decision to seek out Yuji and uncover the truth for himself in chapter 133.

In chapter 134 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Choso observes Pseudo-Geto in action and shocks everyone by referring to him as "Noritoshi Kamo." This causes confusion among the sorcerers, as Noritoshi Kamo is believed to be in their presence. It is revealed that Choso was born from three parents - his mother, the cursed spirit that impregnated her, and a member of the Kamo clan who mixed their blood with his. He shares the same name as Noritoshi.

The man revealed himself to be Pseudo-Geto, who had previously inhabited the body of Noritoshi Kamo to create the Death Paintings. Knowing that Pseudo-Geto could switch bodies, it seemed likely that he had been involved in Yuji Itadori's birth. This led Choso to believe that Yuji was his biological younger brother and he made it his mission to protect him.

As a result, Choso becomes an ally of Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen. When Yuji asked him directly, Choso denied being an ally, but only to emphasize that their bond as brothers was more important than any alliance.

Yuji Itadori is actually related to Choso, as the true identity of Pseudo-Geto is Kenjaku, an ancient curse user who has switched bodies over the years to create offspring. One such instance is related to Choso's birth when Kenjaku took over Noritoshi Kamo's body to become a parent of the Death Paintings.

In chapter 143 of the manga, it is revealed that Kenjaku had also taken over Yuji's mother, Kaori Itadori's body. This confirms Choso's suspicion that Kenjaku was involved in conceiving Yuji, making them half-brothers due to Kenjaku's involvement.

That said, the series has yet to reveal why Kenjaku went to such lengths to create many offspring. Hence, fans should be on the lookout to find any hints about Kenjaku's true goal.

Editor's P/S

Choso's role as an ally for Yuji in Jujutsu Kaisen is an exciting development that has the potential to greatly impact the story. Choso's decision to spare Yuji's life after their battle in the Shibuya Incident arc was a surprising one, and it suggests that there is a deeper connection between the two characters than we initially thought.

The revelation that Choso and Yuji are related through their shared connection to Kenjaku adds another layer of complexity to their relationship. It will be interesting to see how this new dynamic affects their interactions going forward, and whether or not they will be able to work together to achieve their goals. Overall, I am excited to see how Choso's role as an ally for Yuji develops in future arcs of Jujutsu Kaisen.
