Recognizing Kyri's qualities from an early point, Mouch understood that his potential loss would have a significant impact on the entire Firehouse 51 team, but particularly on Ritter. Although it is uncertain whether Mouch will meet his demise in Chicago Fire, in the season 11 finale called "Red Waterfall," he sustained injuries while the team was attempting to apprehend multiple gunmen. Towards the conclusion of the episode, Mouch was receiving medical care in the hospital when Herrmann paid him a visit, only for Mouch to begin bleeding once again.
