Chelsea have finalized the signing of Manchester City winger Cole Palmer on Transfer Deadline Day. The initial payment will amount to £40m, with an additional £2.5m in possible add-ons. This brings the total expenditure at Chelsea under the ownership of Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital to a staggering £1.02bn.
Their spending this summer alone will reach £419m, surpassing the £412m spent by Mauricio Pochettino's former club, Tottenham, in over five years and 11 transfer windows. Palmer, who has signed a seven-year contract with the option of an additional year, will join the Chelsea squad prior to their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday.

In the previous season, he made 25 appearances for City in various competitions and finished the campaign as a triumphant winner of the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
