Cara Delevingne is thinking about how fragile life can be after a fire broke out in her home in Studio City, California.
"My heart is heavy right now. It's hard to believe. Life can change so quickly. Remember to appreciate what you have," Delevingne, 31, shared on Instagram Story on Friday, March 15, along with a broken heart emoji.
Cara Delevingne posted a photo of her two cats with a message, and later shared another picture of them, saying, "They are safe! Thank you to the firefighters."
In a different Instagram Story, Delevingne uploaded a video showing fire trucks outside her home. She thanked the firefighters and everyone who came to help, saying, "I appreciate all the support from the bottom of my heart."
The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that a fire broke out at Delevingne's house early Friday morning, requiring almost 100 firefighters and over two hours to put out.
According to the statement, all occupants were safely evacuated from the home. However, due to the intense and prolonged fire, firefighters had to switch to a defensive approach to protect the structural integrity of the house. The fire caused the roof to collapse, and firefighters had to continue spraying water from outside. In the end, it took 94 firefighters two hours and 16 minutes to control and extinguish the flames.

The statement mentioned that one firefighter was brought to a hospital in fair condition and a resident suffered minor smoke inhalation. The cause of the house fire is currently being investigated.
According to TMZ, who first broke the news, Delevingne was not at home during the incident. The outlet stated that she was seen in England on Thursday, March 14, following her performance as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at Playhouse Theatre.
Delevingne purchased her 8,000 square foot home for $7 million in 2019, as reported by The Los Angeles Times. Two years later, she showcased her house during a tour with Architectural Digest.
During the tour, she expressed her love for the residence, saying, "This house is one of my favorite places to be. It’s kind of like an adult playhouse, I like to call it."
Delevingne shared that her home is not like Alice in Wonderland, but rather each room has its own unique theme. She described it as having a Mad Hatter's tea party vibe, along with jungle, Beverly Hills hotel, old English, and typical LA styles.

The devastating fire at Cara Delevingne's home serves as a sobering reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing what we have. While it is fortunate that no one was seriously injured, the loss of a home can be a traumatic experience, especially for someone who held such a deep affection for their residence. The fact that Delevingne was performing in England at the time of the incident adds an additional layer of emotional turmoil, as she was unable to be there to witness the destruction firsthand or offer immediate support to those affected.
The article highlights the heroic efforts of the Los Angeles Fire Department, who tirelessly worked to extinguish the blaze and ensure the safety of the occupants. The extensive damage caused by the fire, including the collapse of the roof, underscores the intensity of the blaze and the challenges faced by the firefighters. The ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire will hopefully shed light on the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.
