At the beginning of episode 9 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse, the group faced the challenge of how to reach Liones without enough transportation for everyone. Lady Anne's father had only provided them with one talking horse, Sylvan, who struggled to keep up with the group. To address this, Anne took charge, assigning roles to each member of the group: Donny as the decoy, Percival as the mascot, Nasiens as the counselor, and Sin as the guide. As they journeyed, they discussed the Seven Deadly Sins and Anne's aspirations to become as legendary as the knight Meliodas.
The discussion also covered their travel plans to Liones. The most efficient route involved crossing the Dalflare Mountains. Despite this, Anne and Sin engaged in a heated debate about the necessity of stopping at Cant. Ultimately, Sin emerged victorious, emphasizing the need for supplies to ensure their survival during the treacherous journey across the mountains, and to avoid the risk of death.
Cant town chaos
The town of Cant was thrown into chaos in episode 9 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse as Percival's group found themselves in various troubles. Anne managed to spend most of their money, leaving them with only 3 silver, and had to enlist Percival as a fighter to help recover it. Meanwhile, Donny encountered a drunken guard who turned out to be his former Holy Knight instructor named Howzer, almost leading to a confrontation.
This led to a drinking competition between Howzer, the Holy Knight Commander of Liones, and Nasiens. It was during this contest that Nasiens noticed several peculiarities about the town—a general store where all items were priced the same despite their differences in quality, the sale of weapons with royal seals alongside common items, and the absence of any permanent residents.
Based on these observations, Nasiens concluded that the town was likely a haven for bandits and brigands. Unfortunately, this realization came too late, as both Percival and Anne had already been incapacitated and the patrons of the bar were now arming themselves with threatening smiles. Far from being a place of safety, the heroes had unwittingly walked into a trap.

In a revealing flashback, it is disclosed that Howzer is Donny's uncle and he explains that many Holy Knights fail because they struggle with the use of their powers. Additionally, it is revealed that Donny was a thief before joining the circus, as Howzer accuses him of stealing the key to the Coffin of Eternal Darkness from the Sistana arc.
Final thoughts
Donny storms out after enduring an insult about his deceased sister, prompting Percival and the others to come to his defense. However, they quickly become ensnared when Howzer is unveiled as the leader of the gang of thieves who inhabit Cant. The ninth episode of Four Knights of the Apocalypse concludes with the revelation that Edlin is Donny's brother.
Episode 9 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse reveals a chaotic pit stop in Cant, a town filled with thieves and bandits. Donny uncovers crucial information about his identity, adding depth to his character. Each short arc in the series has brought new insight into the characters, but Donny's background and development has been the most eagerly anticipated, especially given his close relationship with Percival.
