The 13th and final episode of the Migi & Dali anime aired on Monday, December 25, 2023, bringing the series to a close. As fans eagerly await news of a potential second season, they wonder whether Geek Toys and CompTown will be behind its production. Written and illustrated by Nami Sano, Migi & Dali is a Japanese mystery manga series originally serialized in Enterbrain's seinen manga magazine, Harta. The manga has since been compiled into seven volumes and was later adapted into an anime by Geek Toys and Comptown.

Migi & Dali will not have a second season, as the anime studios Geek Toys and CompTown already adapted the entire 44-chapter manga series for the anime. Fans may have hoped for a sequel manga series from creator Nami Sano, but unfortunately, Sano passed away at the age of 36 on August 5, 2023, after battling cancer for a month. Sano was also known for her popular series Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, and although she saw the premiere of its anime, she passed away before the Migi & Dali anime aired in October 2023.

Nami Sano's final message to fans:
"This turned out to be an enjoyable life. Now, I am venturing into a world of greater freedom. Farewell."
Adding to the fans' disappointment, it was uncovered that Nami Sano was in the early stages of planning a new manga. Unfortunately, neither the creator nor the fans were able to witness its completion.

In episode 13 of Migi & Dali, titled "Migi and Dali," Dali chooses to remain in hiding while Migi takes on the role of Hitori, following a burn sustained during the Ichijou family incident. However, a nightmare on Christmas Eve leads Dali to realize that his decision was a mistake.
On Christmas morning, the Sonoyamas place two gifts under the tree, indicating that they knew Hitori was portrayed by two people. As a result, Migi and Dali reveal themselves as twin sons to their new parents, who immediately accept them.

Subsequently, the anime fast-forwarded to the events following Eiji's release from the juvenile home. As per their agreement, the triplets enjoyed a slice of cherry pie before Migi and Dali led Eiji to their mother's gravesite.
At the conclusion of the anime, Dali relocated to another city for her studies while Migi remained in Origon village to pursue a career as an artist. They remained hopeful that their hearts would stay connected despite the distance between them.
Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of the Migi & Dali anime, I am deeply saddened by the news that there will not be a second season. The anime's thrilling plot, captivating characters, and beautiful animation had me hooked from the very first episode. I was eagerly anticipating the continuation of the story and the further development of the characters' relationships. The news of the anime's cancellation came as a shock and left me feeling disappointed and longing for more.
However, I understand that the anime studio adapted the entire manga series into the anime, leaving no source material for a second season. Additionally, the untimely passing of the talented creator, Nami Sano, adds to the sense of loss and regret surrounding the anime's conclusion. Her passing is a significant loss to the anime and manga industry, and her absence will be deeply felt by fans worldwide. I extend my deepest condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.
