Despite this, we couldn't even mention the possibility of a new film while the Lightyear movie was in production. It was a somewhat strange situation, but now that the dust has settled, I am excited to see what Toy Story 5 has in store for us."

Lightyear garnered controversy for several reasons, with the most prominent being the reveal that Chris Evans would be voicing Buzz instead of Tim Allen. However, the movie's connection to Toy Story was the primary source of confusion for audiences, ultimately leading to its poor performance at the box office.
