Twisted Metal’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine Reunion Explained

I couldn't believe how incredible it was. The moment I discovered that character, I immediately knew the ideal person for the role – Jason. He portrayed the character's unpredictable nature flawlessly. In my mind, it was always Jason, so I feel incredibly fortunate that he was available to bring his unique essence to the role. He had the entire crew in stitches. Some of the things he said were just mind-boggling.

In episode 8 of the first season of Twisted Metal, titled "EV3L1N," John and Quiet unexpectedly encounter Mantzoukas' character at a gathering organized by the Holy Men. Realizing that their car, the orange Subaru named Evelin, had been stolen by him, John decides to confront Preacher and challenge him to a physical altercation. Throughout the brawl, Preacher showcases his wild acrobatic skills and boasts about the numerous individuals he has eliminated, seemingly deriving pleasure from each moment of the intense fight. The confrontation reaches its climax when Preacher nearly stabs John.

Quiet and Preacher did not have a face-off, but the latter's rescue at the end of the episode, following the explosion of the car, leaves open the possibility of the two characters meeting again in a potential second season of Twisted Metal. However, their dynamic would be completely different compared to the relationship between Beatriz and Mantzoukas' characters in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. While the police comedy explored their romantic feelings for each other over multiple seasons, their relationship ultimately did not last.

Interestingly, Mantzoukas was considered early on by his former co-star for a role. The character of Pimento in Brooklyn Nine-Nine shares some similarities with Preacher, particularly in their dark sense of humor. In the sitcom, Diaz initially sensed something suspicious about Pimento. If Twisted Metal is renewed for a second season, it raises the question of whether Preacher will make a comeback and if there will be any significant moments between him and Quiet.
