Brittany Cartwright is doing well since her split from Jax Taylor. She no longer gets sick from stress.
Scheana Shay shared on the "Scheananigans" podcast on Friday, May 24, how Brittany has been thriving since deciding to take a break from her marriage to Jax, who is 44 years old.
Scheana, age 39, shared that Brittany mentioned she hasn't vomited at all since the separation, whether she was drinking or not. She believes the vomiting was caused by stress, as Brittany's body reacted with hives.
Scheana also mentioned that she wasn't the only one who noticed this change in Brittany.
Scheana mentioned that Jasmine in her interview on The Valley said she's not sick, but sick of Jax.
In Season 1 of The Valley, there were instances where Jax would criticize Brittany, 35, for her drinking habits. Jax alleged that Brittany would experience stomach pains and vomit after drinking excessively, though Brittany denied this.
Brittany confessed during a May episode that he always puts her down and makes her feel drained of energy. She expressed feeling like Jax is taking away her sparkle, leaving her questioning how much more she can endure. After nine years, she is beginning to recognize the small things she has tolerated. Despite believing in love, she wonders if it is sufficient.
On the other hand, Jax maintained his belief that Brittany's health problems were a plea for assistance.
"If you struggle with handling alcohol, it's best to avoid drinking. Getting sick from drinking excessively? Are you still in college? You're a mother now. This has been a recurring issue for years. Maybe I should confront her in front of others to make her realize the problem," Jax, who has a 3-year-old son Cruz with Brittany, expressed. "It's concerning that she feels the need to drink so much to the point of getting sick."
Reflecting on her relationship with Jax, Brittany attributed her gastrointestinal problems to him.
"I know I haven't been treating my body well. But just because I had one drink doesn't mean I have a drinking problem," she said. "He's making me feel like I do. I've been so stressed and unhappy that it's affecting my health."
Brittany went on to say, "I feel like Jax doesn't value me like he used to. He thinks I'll never leave him because I always forgive him quickly. He doesn't understand the emotional toll it takes on me."
Brittany announced her separation from Jax in February before viewers saw the drama unfold on screen. She has since shared that she wants to see changes from Jax before considering a reconciliation.
In an interview, Brittany expressed her concerns, stating, "There are a lot of things, and I’m not seeing enough effort from his side. He needs to go to therapy, not be out at the bar all the time, respect me more, and stop taking me for granted. I was the closest person to him and felt like his punching bag. He was always giving me jabs, and I can’t deal with that for the rest of my life."

Editor's P/S:
Brittany Cartwright's story is a powerful reminder of the toll that stress and toxic relationships can take on our physical and mental health. Her experience highlights the importance of prioritizing our well-being and setting boundaries to protect ourselves from harmful situations. Brittany's decision to separate from Jax Taylor was a brave and necessary step towards healing and rediscovering her own sense of self-worth.
It is concerning that Jax Taylor has repeatedly dismissed Brittany's concerns about her health, suggesting that her vomiting was simply a result of excessive drinking. This dismissiveness and lack of empathy are red flags in any relationship. Brittany's decision to seek support from friends and family, as well as her willingness to recognize the unhealthy patterns in her relationship, is a testament to her strength and resilience. Her journey serves as an inspiration for others who may be struggling in similar situations, reminding them that they are not alone and that there is hope for a better future.
