Spoiler Alert! The events in this rewrite are related to Outlander season 7, episode 5 and the Outlander books.
Brianna faced multiple challenges during her job interview, mainly due to her employer's high expectations. Unfortunately, in Outlander season 7, episode 5, she had to deal with even more difficulties caused by her male subordinates. As a female plant inspector, Brianna endured harsh treatment from Rob Cameron and Andy Pfeiffer, who went as far as trapping her in a tunnel at Loch Errochty. This terrifying experience not only scared Brianna but also angered her deeply. It was clear to her that their actions went beyond simple hazing, especially considering the disrespectful comments she had already received, like being referred to as a "madam inspector." Although Brianna managed to escape the unfortunate situation thanks to her knowledge of the schematics, this encounter set her on a collision course with Rob Cameron, who seemed to hold a position of influence among her colleagues.
Jemmy's Possible Time Travel With Cameron Wouldn't Be Believed Without The Portal
:An Echo in the Bone, the seventh book serving as the foundation for Outlander season 7, solidifies Rob Cameron, Brianna’s coworker, as her primary adversary. Brianna was already unsettled by Cameron's presence at work, but in this installment of the Outlander series, his covert exploration of Lallybroch reveals crucial information regarding both the Jacobite gold and time travel in season 7. Cameron's extensive knowledge of the tunnels in Loch Errochty becomes a significant cause for concern for the Mackenzies, particularly when he abducts Jeremy in An Echo in the Bone. Brianna's subsequent discovery of the tunnel portal in episode 5 of Outlander season 7 further intensifies the Mackenzies' apprehension, ultimately leading them to once again confront the complexities of time travel in their lives.
In the seventh book of Outlander, titled "An Echo in the Bone," Rob Cameron stumbles upon the revelation that Jemmy Mackenzie might possess knowledge of the whereabouts of the Jacobite gold. He forms a devious plan to abduct Jemmy and utilize him as leverage to persuade Roger and Brianna into disclosing the information. Although Brianna and Roger were aware of Jemmy's knowledge regarding the hidden gold, they purposely avoided acknowledging it during the events of season 7, episode 3 of Outlander. Consequently, Jemmy remained oblivious to the significance of the secret location he had shared with Jamie, clueless about its potential value to others.
Cameron cleverly deceived Brianna and Roger, using the excuse of arranging a playdate between his nephew and Jemmy in An Echo in the Bone. However, his true intention was always to bring Jemmy to Craigh na Dun. When this plan failed, Cameron resorted to concealing Jemmy in the Loch Errochty tunnels, which frightened Brianna all the more. She was aware that these tunnels harbored a portal for time travel. The events of Outlander season 7, episode 5 foreshadowed Brianna's knowledge of this portal, hinting that the TV show will soon delve into this storyline from the book. This episode also established the animosity between Brianna and Rob.
The Tunnel Portal Makes Roger Travel To 1740 With Buck In The Outlander Books
In an attempt to locate the Jacobite gold, Roger and Brianna make the decision to separate, each following a possible outcome regarding Jemmy's whereabouts. If Jemmy was hidden by Cameron in their current timeline, Brianna would focus on finding him in the 1980s. On the other hand, if Cameron brought Jemmy back in time, Roger would embark on a journey to the past with his ancestor Buck to search for them. Outlander season 7, episode 5 further develops Jemmy's discussion about the Nuckelavees, taking a darker turn as Roger notices food wrappers and Mandy becomes unsettled by the presence of an unknown individual near their property.
Outlander season 7, episode 5 solidifies the tension between Brianna and Cameron and emphasizes the increased involvement of Buck Mackenzie at Lallybroch. This development strongly indicates that time travel will once again become a part of the Mackenzies' lives. Buck previously assisted Roger in his journey to the past to find Jemmy in the seventh book of Outlander. Although this attempt was unsuccessful due to Cameron's failure to bring Jemmy to the past, it still leads to the separation of Bree and Roger, as well as their return to the 18th century. The progression of the storyline in Outlander season 7, episode 5 brings Roger and Bree closer to reuniting with the rest of their family in America.
