Highlights
A new physical edition of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S has leaked, suggesting the possibility of an Ultimate Edition.
The troubled release of Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen consoles resulted in delistings and technical issues, but the recent presence of a physical edition listing and previous leaks suggest that a fully refined version of the game could be coming soon.
A premature listing by a retailer has revealed that a new physical edition of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is in the works. This aligns with recent rumors of an Ultimate Edition being released.
As the three-year anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077's market debut approaches on December 10, it is important to note that the game faced significant challenges during its initial release. Technical issues plagued the last-generation consoles, leading to its removal from the PlayStation Store temporarily. Xbox continued selling the game but with a warning about performance problems. CD Projekt Red recently disclosed that fixing these issues cost them over $125 million.
The RPG genre has come a long way since its early issues, and its recent success has been highlighted by the critically acclaimed expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Dutch retailer Coolshop has now listed a new physical edition of the game for current-generation consoles, suggesting that this may be the complete version of the dystopian RPG. Although the listing doesn't specifically mention Phantom Liberty or the leaked Ultimate Edition label, the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 has not yet had a physical release for the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S indicates that this newly surfaced product might be the complete version. European customers can already pre-order this unannounced version of Cyberpunk 2077 for €45.95, with a listed release date of November 30. This premature listing aligns with a PEGI rating for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition that was discovered online in early October. If this version of the game is indeed in the works, there is no reason to believe that it won't have a global release, even though the recent leaks have originated in Europe.
Rumors about CDPR's latest game, Cyberpunk 2077, having a complete version have been circulating for almost a year now. Initially, it was believed to be a Game of the Year Edition, although there is no confirmation yet if it will be released for PC.
However, it wouldn't be surprising for CDPR to release a complete version of Cyberpunk 2077, considering the studio's history. Similar treatment was given to their previous AAA RPGs, such as the Enhanced Editions for the first two Witcher games and the Complete Edition for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which came out 15 months after its initial release in May 2015.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG that takes place in a futuristic dystopia. Within this game, players assume the identity of V, a mercenary operating within Night City, located in California. The gameplay features an array of elements, including interactive dialogue, expansive open-world exploration, diverse character classes, and thrilling combat encounters.
