The start time for Diablo 4 Season 2, known as Season of Blood, has been officially delayed by Blizzard. As a result, the actual start date for the new season is now uncertain. Diablo 4 had a successful launch, setting sales records for Blizzard and receiving widespread critical praise. However, the momentum did not continue for the game. The community strongly criticized Diablo 4 Season 1, expressing dissatisfaction with the changes made by Blizzard. This negative feedback compelled Blizzard to reassess and make modifications. Despite rolling back many of the unpopular changes from the initial Season 1 update, disgruntled players remained unwilling to return to Diablo 4. Consequently, Blizzard has focused on Diablo 4 Season 2 as their next initiative to reignite fan interest in the action-RPG. Nevertheless, the launch of Season 2 has encountered some issues of its own.
Diablo 4 Season 2, which was scheduled to begin at 10am PT on Tuesday, October 17, has unfortunately been delayed at the last minute. The delay, caused by complications that Blizzard has not specified, will push the start time back by a few hours. Blizzard has reassured fans that updates will be shared as soon as possible and has expressed appreciation for their patience.
If Blizzard's reference to "a few hours" indicates approximately three hours, fans can expect Diablo 4 Season 2 to commence around 1pm PT. However, there is a possibility that the season may begin earlier or that fans may experience a longer wait. Given the high expectations for Diablo 4 Season of Blood, it is understandable that some fans are disappointed by the delayed start.
In Diablo 4 Season 2, players will embark on a fresh adventure as they confront a deadly undead plague of vampires infiltrating the game world. They will join forces with a new vampire hunter character to combat this menace. To fully immerse themselves in the new storyline, players are encouraged to create a new character from scratch.
For those who prefer not to create a new character, they can look forward to the paid expansions of Diablo 4. Blizzard intends to release one expansion annually, although specific information on the game's first major DLC remains undisclosed. As BlizzCon 2023 looms on the horizon, fans may anticipate learning more about Diablo 4's plans for 2024 in the near future.
Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
