PSG grants Kylian Mbappe permission to negotiate with Al Hilal after receiving a world-record bid Mbappe's contract dilemma and potential move to Real Madrid fuel speculation France's players' union threatens legal action against PSG Stay tuned for the latest transfer window updates on Sky Sports

Paris Saint-Germain has given Al Hilal the permission to communicate with Kylian Mbappe following the Saudi club's record-breaking £259m offer. In an effort to demonstrate their intention to only include dedicated players, the French champions have made Mbappe available for transfer and opted not to include him in their squad for the upcoming pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.

Al Hilal's bid, which has broken records, is not the only offer that PSG has received. Various offers, including cash along with players, have been presented to PSG for Mbappe. However, Al Hilal has made their intentions clear by putting forward the bid that sets a new world record.

PSG is of the belief that there are at least five clubs, including Tottenham, who are interested in acquiring Mbappe.

Mbappe's potential transfer to Al Hilal could surpass Neymar's £198m deal with PSG, making him the most expensive player in history. PSG is open to considering any offers and proposals to sell Mbappe, and they would prefer to sell him to the highest bidder. However, other clubs are unlikely to match Al Hilal's offer.

The forward has just one year left on his contract and is refusing to re-sign, as PSG suspects he has already made a commitment to join Real Madrid without any transfer fee next year. Unless he decides to extend his contract, the 24-year-old will no longer represent PSG.

However, Real may now be tempted to make a formal bid for the player to make sure they do not miss out on him again.

Spurs are among the Premier League clubs interested in Mbappe

PSG is resolute in their efforts to avoid losing Mbappe, who is rumored to have been signed from Monaco for over £150m, without receiving any compensation.

Potential clubs have been made aware that PSG is even open to the possibility of loaning out Mbappe for the entire season.

However, Mbappe is ready to take a firm stance, spend the upcoming season as a benchwarmer, and depart for Madrid without a transfer fee in the following summer.

Should the French forward remain a PSG player by August 1, he will be entitled to a loyalty bonus of £51.6m. The bonus will be paid in installments as per the terms and conditions outlined in his contract.

PSG insiders are encouraging Mbappe to consider discussing with Al Hilal. The Parisians believe that a move to Saudi Arabia would benefit all parties involved, particularly if the player agrees to only spend one season there.

In such a scenario, Mbappe would not only receive his loyalty bonus from PSG, but also a signing-on fee and generous wages from Al Hilal. Additionally, he would have the opportunity for a "free transfer" to Madrid the following summer, where he would receive a £160m signing-on fee, along with hefty wages.

PSG would benefit from a return on their investment, ultimately concluding the Mbappe saga. Similarly, Madrid would acquire their desired player next summer, as initially planned, without any transfer fee. Furthermore, Al Hilal and Saudi Arabia would secure the services of one of the world's finest players, albeit for a limited duration of one season.

Analysis: Will Mbappe be convinced to move to Saudi Arabia?

How Kylian Mbappe's reported contract offer from Al Hilal breaks down

We asked News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol whether Kylian Mbappe wants to discuss with Al Hilal, as the club has granted them permission. However, there has been no signal that Mbappe has any intention of pursuing a career in Saudi Arabia at this point.

Many believe that Kylian Mbappe only has his sights set on joining Real Madrid, dismissing any other clubs as a waste of time. However, it is important to consider that these individuals, specifically the Saudi sovereign wealth fund and PIF, are the same entities that recently acquired the entire sport of golf. They made headlines by offering Tiger Woods a staggering $700m to join the LIV Golf tour, despite him being past his prime and nearing retirement. Given their willingness to invest such significant sums into someone like Woods, it is not unreasonable to think that they would also be prepared to offer immense amounts to secure the services of Mbappe, who is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world currently.

Saudi Mbappe interest was 'inevitable'

French football expert Jonathan Johnson:

There is a lot of talk about some remarkable numbers circulating. Certain American outlets claim that Al Hilal is proposing an offer of approximately €700m to Mbappe for one season, also suggesting that he could subsequently switch to Real Madrid. However, I have not come across any evidence supporting these claims. What I can confirm is that this offer of €300m was indeed made by Al Hilal to PSG on Saturday.

This is most likely the best outcome for PSG, as they have the potential to receive a world-record transfer fee from a club that could offer Mbappe a significant amount of money in a short period. This arrangement wouldn't necessarily hinder his future aspiration to play for Real Madrid either. In fact, a shorter-term deal would be more enticing for someone like Kylian Mbappe compared to a longer three- or four-year contract.

It was inevitable for Saudi Arabia to eventually join the competition and make an attempt to lure Kylian Mbappe away from PSG. Especially considering the recent deterioration of the situation, particularly in the last few days, PSG would be open to accepting this offer if it is solid and there is an indication that Mbappe would be willing to discuss personal terms and consider the astonishing proposition put forth by Saudi Arabia.

France's players' union has accused PSG of subjecting Mbappe to moral harassment and has warned the club of potential legal consequences to safeguard the forward's rights.

A statement released by the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels (UNFP) emphasized the need for all players, without exception, to be provided with equitable working conditions akin to those available to other professionals.

The UNFP believes it is necessary to remind managers that exerting pressure on an employee, such as by deteriorating their working conditions, in order to coerce them into leaving or accepting the employer's demands, is considered moral harassment and is strongly condemned by French law.

Therefore, the UNFP asserts its right to pursue legal action, both civil and criminal, against any club that engages in such behavior.
