IO Interactive has revealed a brand-new elusive target as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. Named The Drop, this elusive target will be portrayed by real-world DJ Dimitri Vegas in Hitman: World of Assassination. The character is a DJ turned drug lord and will be Agent 47's next victim. This is the first time IO Interactive has introduced a new target since the assassination of Sully Bowden in The Rage, released in October 2021.

DJ Dimitri Vegas will be available starting in "Fall 2023," making it challenging to determine an exact release date for the elusive target. However, IO Interactive's 25th anniversary falls on September 16, which could be a possible starting date. Previous elusive targets typically lasted for approximately two to three weeks, suggesting that The Drop may also have a similar availability period. Though IO Interactive initially announced a hiatus for the Hitman franchise in March, the unexpected addition of this elusive target may entice players to revisit World of Assassination.

Regrettably, Hitman players shouldn't expect much additional content in the near future apart from this elusive target. IO Interactive has not only acknowledged the hiatus, but also revealed that they are currently developing a new game. This upcoming Fantasy RPG will be IO Interactive's first original intellectual property since the release of Mini Ninjas in 2009, potentially bringing a significant shift in tone to their games. Hitman: World of Assassination is currently accessible on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
