The potential Suits spinoff centered on Louis Litt, titled Litt, was once discussed by the producer Find out what this exciting spinoff could have been about in this article

Summary

A spin-off for Louis Litt from Suits was once considered, along with other ideas that never materialized.

The potential spin-off for Louis Litt would have delved deeper into his intricate character and delved into his journey of redemption.

Considering Louis' strong fan following as an original character on Suits and the potential risks associated with a similar ensemble series, a spin-off focused on him currently stands as the most promising choice for reviving the show.

The executive producer of the show reveals that there was once consideration for a spin-off centered around Louis Litt, the eccentric and unpredictable lawyer in Suits. Played by Rick Hoffman, Louis had a tumultuous relationship with Harvey and Mike, at times leading him to undermine his own firm due to insecurities and unfair treatment. However, despite his questionable actions, Louis always managed to redeem himself, making him one of the most complex characters in the series. Show creator Aaron Korsh and his team had previously explored the idea of a spin-off featuring Louis, following the success of Gina Torres' spin-off show, Pearson. In an interview with TV Line, non-writing producer Gene Klein discussed their previous plans for a Louis Litt spin-off, as well as other ideas that did not come to fruition. Read his quote below:

"We had countless ideas for spinoffs that were mostly just figments of our imagination. Aaron and I would often brainstorm and ponder about different possibilities," Klein reveals. He further explains that these concepts revolved around the notion of taking a few characters and exploring their individual journeys, but unfortunately, none of them materialized.

"Naturally, one of the ideas involved a spinoff centered around Louis Litt."

“There were fewer characters for whom [Aaron] had spinoff ideas, concepts that would serve as prequels featuring a younger iteration of, let's say, a secondary character. These intriguing and enjoyable notions were never pursued further,”

What A Louis Litt Suits Spin-Off May Be About

Given everything that occurred throughout Suits' nine-season run, it is logical to select Louis Litt as the focal point for a spin-off. Being an original member of the cast, the show's current fan base has already invested several years in his character. Creating another ensemble series featuring additional characters like Alex (played by Dulé Hill), Samanta (played by Katherine Heigl), and Katrina (played by Amanda Schull) runs the risk of being too reminiscent of the original show. Even if the spin-off turns out to be exceptional, it will likely always be in the shadow of its predecessor.

Louis committed numerous reprehensible acts in Suits, alienating nearly everyone in the firm and making Mike's life unbearable when he uncovered his secret. He even exhibited meanness and rudeness towards Donna and Rachel, his closest colleagues. However, Louis eventually learned to regulate his emotions and not take things personally. Towards the end of Suits, Harvey and Donna left the company, leaving Louis in charge. While it remains uncertain if this was Klein's intended outcome, the show's finale aptly set the stage for a potential spin-off. It's also possible that the new show could see Louis depart from New York to pursue a different career path elsewhere.

Given Suits' newfound popularity on Netflix, there have been discussions about the possibility of a revival. However, it may be challenging to bring back all the original characters, as each of them is currently focused on their individual projects. Nevertheless, if any platform seeks to capitalize on the legal drama's resurgence, creating another spin-off may be the most viable option. Making Louis the focal point of the new show appears to be the strongest choice at the moment.
