News has learned that Rangers will announce their new manager, either Philippe Clement or Kevin Muscat, within the next 24 hours. After conducting thorough interviews with multiple candidates this week, CEO James Bisgrove and chairman John Bennett have been engaged in final discussions with the two contenders and are nearing a decision on their preferred choice.
Either Clement or Muscat will replace Michael Beale just two weeks after the 43-year-old was sacked following a third league loss in seven games as Aberdeen won 3-1 at Ibrox.

After the loss to Aris Limassol in Europe, Steven Davis took over as interim coach and successfully guided the team to a 3-0 victory against the previously undefeated St Mirren. This result positioned Rangers in second place in the Scottish Premiership, trailing behind Celtic by seven points.
Beginning next Monday, the new manager will convene with the team at Rangers Training Centre and commence preparations for their upcoming match against Hibernian, which will mark his debut on the Ibrox dugout.
Ex-Club Brugge, Genk, and Monaco boss Clement, who clinched three consecutive Belgian Pro League titles, is currently a free agent. However, there have been speculations of him being connected to other job opportunities.

Clement has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia

Having achieved a domestic treble as a player at Ibrox in 2003, Muscat has also made a mark as a manager. He secured the A-League title while leading Melbourne Victory and claimed the J-League title with his current club Yokohama F. Marinos. Rangers have been carefully narrowing down a long list of candidates over the past few months as part of their succession planning. They are now on the verge of naming the 19th permanent manager in the club's history.

Muscat achieved the league title as a manager in Australia and currently at Yokohama F. Marinos. Rangers will soon appoint their fourth manager within two years, after Steven Gerrard's departure to Aston Villa in 2021 and the subsequent dismissals of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Beale.
Boyd: Rangers need new manager now
Speaking on We after Rangers' 3-0 win at St Mirren before the international break, former Gers striker Kris Boyd said:
Rangers require an immediate appointment. Although there was a positive response against St Mirren, there is now a two-week hiatus, and Rangers must promptly secure someone to allow sufficient time for player coordination.
While Steven Davis will not assume the managerial position, Rangers must identify a suitable candidate from within the organization. This will ensure that when the next manager arrives and restructures the team, the entire roster will not be purged, leaving no one capable of seamlessly transitioning into a new role.
Steven Davis has been unexpectedly tasked with a challenging role. Joining the Rangers without much preparation can be quite overwhelming. The club requires a dedicated individual in their management team who can step in when necessary.
Taking up this position won't be a piece of cake. It seems that there aren't many valuable players to sell and generate funds for acquiring new ones.
The club should seek a candidate who can take charge and stabilize the situation while simultaneously initiating improvements. From my perspective, once a club hires a manager, they should already have their sights set on finding their future replacement.
If the results don't turn out favorably, you will lose your manager. Conversely, if the results are successful, your manager will depart for a larger club. This is simply the inherent reality of football.
It is essential to consistently strategize for what lies ahead.
