The series premiered on the NHK Educational channel in Japan, but it appeared that the streaming access was limited to the Disney+ platform in certain international regions. Blue Orchestra season 2 has been announced and is set for release in the future. It will continue the original manga series created by Makoto Akui. The manga first premiered in April 2017 in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday magazine and is still being regularly serialized. Jun Sakata served as the production supervisor and chief producer for the first season of the television anime adaptation. The series was directed by Seiji Kishi at Nippon Animation, with Yuuko Kakihara responsible for both writing and overseeing the series scripts. Kazuaki Morita designed the characters for the anime series.
It is presumed at the time of this article’s writing that these main staff members from the first season will return for the second.

The manga series received the prestigious Best Shonen Manga award at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January of this year. Other highly praised series that have also won this award include Komi Can’t Communicate, Dr. Stone, Mob Psycho 100, Haikyu!!, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, and the internationally renowned Bleach.
