Breaking: Explosive Showdown Reveals the Republicans Who Stood Against Jim Jordan for Speaker

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio has been unsuccessful in his bid for the House speakership after two rounds of voting. On Tuesday, a significant number of 20 Republicans voted against his candidacy, exceeding the few defections he could afford due to the party's slim majority in Congress.

Jordan, along with any other GOP candidate for speaker, can only tolerate a maximum of four Republican votes against them, assuming all members are present and participating in the voting procedure on the floor. In order to be elected, a speaker requires a majority of the entire House.

In a vote that took place on Wednesday, the congressman's situation deteriorated further as 22 Republicans voted against him.

The House remains effectively frozen, as it has been without a speaker for two weeks after Kevin McCarthys historic ouster.
