Breaking: Court Confirms Microsoft's Leaked Documents; Xbox Boss Fires Back with Epic Response!

Confirmed court filing reveals Microsoft's own involvement in document leak, prompting a response from the Xbox boss

Microsoft is accountable for unintentionally releasing confidential documents relating to upcoming Xbox plans, undisclosed games, and potential studio purchases. The source of the leak has been verified by a recent submission from the FTC v Microsoft judge, as confirmed by The Verge.

Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley mentioned in the submission that the court had instructed all relevant parties to collaborate and present the court with a "secure cloud link" containing pertinent documents pertaining to the case, with necessary redactions. Microsoft complied with the order and uploaded the documents to the official page of the case. Essentially, Microsoft uploaded the documents without redacting the information that has now been leaked.

The court has taken down the documents following the leak. Now, the parties involved must re-submit the exhibits before September 22. Additionally, they must sign a certification stating that the uploaded exhibits do not contain any "non-public information."

In response to the leak, Phil Spencer addressed the situation on Twitter/X. He expressed his disappointment over the unauthorized sharing of old emails and documents. He emphasized that a lot has changed and there are many exciting things to look forward to now and in the future. He promised to unveil the actual plans when the time is right.

The leaked documents contain details regarding a discless variant of the Xbox Series X, an improved controller equipped with an accelerometer, and a comprehensive schedule of upcoming game releases that have yet to be officially announced. Although Spencer acknowledged that numerous changes have taken place since the creation of these documents, no specific information has been disclosed regarding the modifications implemented.
