Manchester United's Antony has refuted assault allegations during his appearance on Brazilian television. He was recently excluded from the Brazil team after his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavalin, made the initial accusations.
Rayssa de Freitas alleges that she sustained injuries and needed medical attention following an assault in May 2022 involving Antony and an unidentified woman.
During an interview with the Brazilian network SBT, Antony refuted these claims and expressed confidence in the revelation of the truth.
De Freitas reported the alleged incident to the Sao Paulo Civil Police, as per reports from multiple sources.
In a TV interview, Ingrid Lana has stated that Antony exerted pressure on her to engage in a sexual encounter during a business trip to England last year.
In the interview, Lana claimed that Antony had invited her to his house and forcefully pressed her against a wall, resulting in her hitting her head. She also mentioned that Antony had made advances towards her, despite her clear lack of interest in having a relationship with him.
"He forcefully pinned me against the wall, causing me to hit my head. I had come there solely for business purposes. However, upon arriving at his invitation, it became evident that he had hidden intentions."
Manchester United chose not to respond when approached by We News regarding the recent accusations. However, earlier this week, the club stated that they were treating the initial allegations with utmost seriousness. The Greater Manchester Police are currently investigating the claims made by his ex-girlfriend.
