David de Gea's future at Manchester United has been described as "in the balance".
De Gea is out of contract at the end of the month with a new deal at Old Trafford yet to be signed off
The Spanish goalkeeper was named on United's released list.
It is understood "discussions remain open" as both the club and De Gea consider their options.
United are considering alternative options in the goalkeeper position, such as Diogo Costa from Porto, David Raya from Brentford, and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. It is unclear whether De Gea will continue to be part of the club's plans, but manager Erik ten Hag has not guaranteed him the number one spot for the upcoming season if he does stay.
Manchester United have submitted a revised bid of £55m for Chelsea's talented midfielder, Mason Mount. However, reports suggest that Chelsea is holding out for a higher fee of around £65m. In the event that their offer is turned down, United is currently exploring other potential targets and is unlikely to increase their bid.

If Chelsea responds positively, United is willing to negotiate the terms and structure of their latest bid for Mount, who currently has only one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
United still have an eye on West Ham captain Declan Rice and have been in talks regarding the feasibility of a potential transfer deal.
