Original story:

Michael Grimm, the season 5 winner of America’s Got Talent, has been hospitalized and remains in an intensive care unit as he battles an unknown illness.

On Tuesday, June 6, Lucie Zolcerva-Grimm, the wife of the 44-year-old singer, shared an update on her husband's health through Grimm's Instagram page. In the video, Zolcerva-Grimm mentioned that her husband had recently been facing health challenges, and his symptoms, such as feeling drained of energy, worsened on Memorial Day. She expressed concern over his deteriorating condition, mentioning that he could barely walk all of a sudden. To address the situation, Zolcerva-Grimm immediately took the blues musician to the emergency room, fearing he was suffering from a stroke, though fortunately, that turned out not to be the case.

After arriving at the hospital, Grimm's condition deteriorated, leading to incoherent speech and physical trembling. Consequently, he was promptly moved to the ICU.

"Michael has been in the ICU for the entire week due to his declining health. To ensure his well-being, he was placed on a ventilator and heavily sedated," Zolcerva-Grimm explained. "Fortunately, today the doctors were able to remove the ventilator, and he is now breathing independently. However, he is still being kept sedated to prevent seizures or unstable blood pressure."

The booking manager stressed that the cause of her husband's illness remains unknown and doctors are investigating various organs to eliminate possibilities. She mentioned that Grimm will need to undergo physical therapy once he recovers, as he has been bedridden for a week.

"He is currently unable to speak and will require vocal cord repair due to his time on the ventilator," Zolcerva-Grimm revealed. She acknowledged that Grimm may not appreciate her updating his health on social media, as he is a very private person. However, she decided to keep fans informed as she had to cancel several of the AGT alum's upcoming performances.
