Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are currently involved in a legal dispute over their French vineyard Château Miraval, which has become increasingly complex.

It has been reported that Tenute del Mondo, the company that Angelina Jolie, 48, has been attempting to sell her shares of the winery to, has filed a countersuit against Brad Pitt, 60, and his company Mondo Bongo on Monday, May 13th. The countersuit is for a staggering amount of €20 million, which is equivalent to over $21 million U.S. dollars.

Tenute claimed in court documents filed on Monday that Pitt misused funds and assets from Château Miraval. The company alleged that Pitt's control over the French winery led to damages, accusing him of directing funds towards personal expenses and other business ventures instead of dividends and loan repayments. The paperwork also stated that Pitt spent millions on projects benefiting himself, including over $1 million on renovations for a swimming pool exclusively for his use.

According to the countersuit, Pitt is accused of using Château Miraval's assets to support other businesses by either giving them money from Château Miraval or letting them use the property and assets without fair payment.

The countersuit also claims that Pitt and Mondo Bongo have treated Château Miraval like their personal bank account. They have allegedly made deals using the estate's money that have prevented Tenute from receiving the profits and loan payments it should have gotten.

According to someone involved in the legal case, the claims against Pitt are considered "absurd."

The source pointed out, "This just goes to show how far Stoli is willing to go and reveals their hypocrisy. Brad Pitt played a crucial role in building Miraval, and his association with it has been a significant factor in its success."

While Pitt and Jolie were officially declared single in 2019, they have been involved in legal battles over their French vineyard and the custody of their six children. The children include Maddox, 22, Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.

In 2021, Jolie decided to sell her shares of the property, which led Pitt to take legal action. In June 2022, Pitt accused Jolie of selling her stake in an attempt to harm him during their divorce proceedings.

Pitt and Jolie bought the château and vineyard together - the château as a family home and the vineyard as a business. They promised not to sell their shares in Miraval without each other's permission. The couple enjoyed holidays at Miraval with their kids and even got married there in 2014.

Recently, Pitt faced a setback in the legal battle when a judge threw out some of his complaints against Jolie about the property.

Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, stated that most of Mr. Pitt's claims were dismissed by the judge due to lack of legal basis. He mentioned that Jolie harbored no ill feelings towards her estranged husband and clarified that the lawsuit was not related to a business dispute. Instead, it was about Pitt's alleged efforts to conceal serious abuse. The attorney expressed satisfaction that a significant portion of Pitt's complaint had been rejected by the judge.

This countersuit paints a damning picture of Pitt's alleged financial mismanagement, potentially further complicating the already complex legal dispute.

The claims and counterclaims between Pitt and Jolie expose the depths of their ongoing conflict. Pitt's alleged personal use of Château Miraval's funds highlights the challenges of separating business interests from personal matters in high-profile relationships.
