Boruto's first part concluded a few months ago, and fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the second half with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex set to release next week. Fans are thrilled to see their favorite characters return as the next generation takes the world by storm. However, it's not just the new characters that fans are eagerly awaiting. The beloved Naruto characters from the original series are also making a comeback, and one character in particular has everyone's attention: Sakura Haruno. Sakura played a crucial role in the original Naruto series, but her involvement in Boruto hasn't lived up to fans' expectations. Perhaps it's time for Sakura to have a more prominent role in the series.
The Current Events Of Boruto
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations concluded on a somber note for certain beloved characters. Naruto Uzumaki, the adored 7th Hokage, was sealed away by Kawaki, who believed it was for Naruto's own protection. Following Code's assault on Konoha, Kawaki determined that keeping Naruto safe meant eliminating all members of the Otsutsuki Clan. Although defeating the Otsutsuki is already challenging, it becomes even more difficult for Kawaki when he has to confront his own brother, Boruto, who is currently the vessel for Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
Boruto's transformation into an Otsutsuki is now complete. It is undeniable that the Karma extraction will prevent Boruto from permanently becoming Momoshiki. However, if Boruto were to lose control, it would provide an opportunity for Momoshiki to take over, which is exactly what he desires. Recognizing Boruto as a potential threat, Kawaki intends to eliminate him. In the first part of Boruto, Kawaki took away his brother's life, orchestrating events so that everyone would blame Boruto for the 7th Hokage's death. Due to everyone's memories being altered, Boruto departed from the village. Fortunately, Sarada and Sasuke came to his aid. Together with Sasuke, Boruto defected from the village, marking the commencement of the four-year timeskip.
Sakura Haruno Steps In
Amidst the ongoing turmoil in Konoha and the absence of some of its most formidable members, this presents an opportune moment for Sakura to emerge and silence any doubts about her prowess as one of the village's elite. Sakura has already proven her worth on the global stage during the Fourth Great Ninja War. She fought alongside Naruto and Sasuke, playing a pivotal role in saving the world. Remarkably, as a teenager, she surpassed Tsunade in strength, displaying immense potential as a shinobi with her prime years still ahead of her.
Following the war, Sakura garnered recognition as one of the village's strongest shinobi. Furthermore, her role as a medical ninja took on heightened significance as she assumed leadership of Konoha's medical unit. Sakura's proficiency in ninjutsu improved to the extent that she developed resistance to genjutsu, so potent that even Naruto, a Perfect Jinchuriki, could not withstand it. She also acquired exceptional chakra reserves, capable of providing continuous support to Naruto for three straight days. As an adult, Sakura's abilities heightened significantly, solidifying her status as among the village's most formidable individuals by the time of Boruto. It is this potential that places Sakura Haruno in a position to potentially play a crucial role in the series, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her contribution.
Sakura's Role In Boruto
Sakura possesses the necessary qualities to excel in Boruto and has demonstrated remarkable growth over the years. However, her portrayal in the series has been disappointing, which is not an issue unique to Sakura. The majority of the Naruto cast in Boruto has been overlooked and treated with disregard. The focus of the story primarily revolves around Boruto and Kawaki, resulting in diminished significance for characters like Naruto and Sasuke as time progresses.
Initially, both Naruto and Sasuke held pivotal roles in Boruto, possibly to captivate the fans. However, their relevance has since dwindled. As a member of Team 7, Sakura deserves a more substantial role in Boruto. If Naruto and Sasuke were given their due attention, Sakura should have also received adequate recognition.
Sakura In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
In the unfortunate decisions made by the writers, Sakura was unjustly excluded from playing a significant role in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga. Nevertheless, it is never too late to rectify the mistakes within a storyline. Given the current dire circumstances faced by Konoha, this presents an ideal opportunity for Sakura to showcase her true capabilities. Presently, Naruto Uzumaki is believed to be deceased and Sasuke Uchiha has turned his back on the village. The Shinobi world finds itself immersed in unparalleled chaos, demanding a team of formidable ninjas to guide them through this turbulent period. It is the perfect moment for individuals like Sakura to seize control and prove their worthiness as ninjas, demanding the attention and recognition they rightfully deserve. In the Boruto series, it is crucial for Sakura to have a more prominent role, particularly because Naruto will be absent from the village for approximately four years. Considering his previous experience in the position, Kakashi Hatake might be chosen as the Hokage once again. Nevertheless, Sakura should also be considered as a potential candidate for the 8th Hokage, should the topic of electing one arise. This would create a parallel with Naruto's predecessor, Tsunade, who became the Fifth Hokage after the passing of Hiruzen, her mentor, following Minato's death.
If Kakashi becomes the Hokage during this time, the position may eventually be passed on to Sakura, assuming Naruto does not return soon. While there are other candidates for the role of 8th Hokage, none of them are currently ready. Konohamaru has shown himself to be weak and rarely participates in battles, and Sarada is still too young. If a new Hokage is elected, Sakura Haruno is the most suitable for the position.
At present, it would be in the village's best interest to appoint an interim Hokage. Kakashi would be suitable for this role, but if Naruto does not return, Sakura is the only deserving candidate. Additionally, Konoha will face threats when "Boruto: Two Blue Vortex" begins. It is important to note that Sasuke and Naruto are no longer there to protect the village, and this responsibility now falls on the shoulders of the village's strongest ninjas, with Sakura standing out as one of the top contenders. Fans can only hope that Sakura receives a more prominent role in the second part of "Boruto" as she truly deserves more attention.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will be available to read on MangaPlus.
