VIZ Media shared a new key visual for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 2 – The Separation on Saturday, coinciding with the airing of the 21st episode of the final arc, titled "The Headless Star." This new visual showcases Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, and Byakuya standing in a formation reminiscent of the previous key visual, which featured the Sternritter with Uryū Ishida at the center. The two key visuals combine to form a full spread, depicting the opposing factions in red and blue.
This key visual was released alongside the announcement of the season finale's broadcast date on September 30. The finale will be an hour-long special that includes episodes 25 and 26. Fans can stream BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War on Hulu and Disney+.
Ichigo's return to the battlefield marks the next phase of Yhwach's plan. As he charges forward to confront the Quincy King, the shocking sight of Uryū Ishida donning the uniform of the Sternritters reveals the central theme of this season: the Separation. The characters must now choose their sides. Throughout this season of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, the primary colors of red and blue have dominated the lighting, reflecting the current state of the Seireitei and the significance of their symbolic contrast in relation to the events unfolding in the arc.
BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War is the anime adaptation of the final arc of Tite Kubo's manga. It will consist of a total of 52 episodes, divided evenly into four cours. The first season aired from October to December 2022, while the current season began in July of this year and is expected to conclude at the end of September.
The BLEACH manga was initially published in Shueisha's Shо̄nen Jump in August 2001 and concluded in August 2016, spanning 74 volumes. As a delightful surprise for the 20th anniversary of the series, the one-shot titled Echoing Jaws of Hell was released in 2021. Accompanying the manga, the anime adaptation produced by Studio Pierrot aired for 366 episodes from October 2004 to March 2012. Additionally, four anime films were released between 2006 and 2010.
