Eddie Murphy is back as Lieutenant Axel Foley
The first look at Beverly Hills Cop 4 has Foley in the hot seat as he’s being arrested by an officer surrounded by smartphones.
Those who are die-hard fans of the movie franchise will surely recall Foley's flair for the dramatic and tendency to stir up trouble. In fact, there was a time when he was apprehended for causing a public disturbance after being forcibly expelled from a window. In the exclusive premiere of the fourth installment, it appears that Foley finds himself trapped in an overturned car. Surrendering with his hands raised, he is likely under arrest by two officers. Given that the events of the movie unfold in the year 2023, it comes as no surprise that bystanders are seizing the moment to capture photos and potentially stream the unfolding scene.
Empire reports that Beverly Hills Cop 4 picks up from where the previous installment ended, following Foley's journey thus far. The film introduces Foley's daughter, who is a criminal defense attorney, taking him to California to assist with a case. In true Foley style, he finds himself causing trouble for Kevin Bacon's LAPD force, alongside his new partner portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Additionally, familiar characters such as Lt. William "Billy" Rosewood (played by Judge Reinhold), Det. Jeffrey Friedman (played by Paul Reiser), Sgt. John Taggart (played by John Ashton), and Serge (played by Bronson Pinchot) make their return in the movie.
Mark Malloy directs the highly anticipated new installment, guaranteeing an abundance of thrilling action, raw intensity, hilarious comedy, and heartfelt emotions. Brace yourself for Murphy's return to one of his most legendary action roles. However, the actor candidly confessed to People, "It was a challenging endeavor.
