Kaitlyn Bristowe is addressing the criticism she has been receiving lately, acknowledging that she has been feeling negative and attracting negative attention. In response to a supportive comment from one of her Instagram followers, Bristowe admitted that she hasn't been feeling very positive lately and has been reflecting negativity.
She noted that it serves as a good reminder that if you want to see the light in people and encourage them to be a light, you have to do that yourself.
Bristowe's post followed her connection to The Bachelorette alum Zac Clark making headlines. On New Year's Eve, Bristowe hosted a party at her Nashville home with franchise alums Clark, 39, and Blake Moynes. Clark, who left season 16 of the show engaged to Tayshia Adams, confirmed their split in December 2021. Adams, 33, and Bristowe then went on to cohost seasons 17 and 18 of the reality TV series.
During the NYE event, a video showed Bristowe with her arm around Clark, sparking speculation that she had been unfaithful to her ex-fiancé Jason Tartick, whom she ended her engagement with in August 2023 after four years together. Responding to the online rumors, Bristowe took to her Instagram Story to deny any infidelity earlier this month.
"By now, you'd think I'd be used to the hatred. I'm not. Your words cut deep. Your public shaming is painful. Part of me feels sorry and even embarrassed for you guys because this isn't how you should be starting a new year," Bristowe wrote on her Instagram Story. "You shouldn't be this invested in someone you don't even know or respect. It's actually concerning, and I know introspection might be even more concerning for you. But the cyberbullying is extreme. You're entitled to your opinions and feelings."
She continued, "But you don't even know the whole story, and your HATE should have consequences. I'm genuinely concerned about some of your mental well-being. This isn't okay. Please. Please be ashamed of yourselves for treating someone this way whom you don't know. I didn't commit a crime. I celebrated with some of my favorite people. Shame on YOU. Not me."
Bristowe also made a separate post to address the rumors, stating, “I want to make it clear that there was absolutely no cheating involved and I refuse to entertain this gossip. Some of you are being incredibly malicious. Anyway, I swear on my dogs' lives that there was no cheating. Let's put an end to this rumor. Thank you!! Wishing everyone a happy new year. Go donate some blood or do something good!”

Tartick seemed to add fire to the rumors when he referred to January 2 as "the first official day of 2024" in a post on social media. Shortly after, Bristowe expressed her disappointment with the way Tartick seemed to be embracing a victim mentality.
During her "Off the Vine" podcast, she expressed, "I don't want to downplay his pain. The word 'disappointment' keeps resurfacing. I am so let down that someone would fabricate a false accusation to gain sympathy for themselves."
