Avengers The Kang Dynasty release date: When is it coming out?
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is due for release on May 1, 2026.
Originally scheduled for May 2, 2025, Disney decided to postpone its release by a year in June 2023 due to significant alterations in its movie lineup. This film is the third installment out of the four already confirmed movies in Phase Six of the MCU, following Deadpool 3 and Fantastic Four, and preceding Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
Daniel Destin Cretton was initially slated to direct the project; however, Deadline reported in November 2023 that he will be stepping down in order to prioritize other MCU ventures, such as Wonder Shang-Chi 2 and Wonder Man.
At present, the individual who will take the helm remains unknown. Jeff Sneider, an informed figure in the industry, conveyed in a newsletter that "Secret Wars" is envisioned as a two-part endeavor by Marvel, thus necessitating a director capable of overseeing both films. Speculatively, Matt Shakman could potentially be considered for the role after completing "Fantastic Four."

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty cast – Who’s in it?
There is uncertainty surrounding Jonathan Majors reprising his role as Kang the Conqueror. He portrayed the character as He Who Remains in Loki and as Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Majors was apprehended in March 2023 on charges of assaulting his companion, as reported by The Direct.
While he makes an appearance in Loki Season 2, his character's storyline concluded in a manner that allows for closure, depending on the decision of Marvel Studios. Currently, Majors' future within the MCU remains uncertain.
During an interview with Comicbook.com on November 10th, Simu Liu, the actor who portrays Shang-Chi, appeared to confirm that his character will be making an appearance in The Kang Dynasty. Liu expressed his happiness for director Destin Daniel Cretton, who has been chosen to direct the next Avengers movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Liu stated, "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him again."
However, Sneider expressed doubt in his newsletter, stating, "Considering that Season 2 of Loki may potentially conclude Kang's storyline, it's fair to question whether The Kang Dynasty will actually happen." He did, however, mention that there is ample time to determine the situation.
Speculation is growing that Doctor Doom may replace Kang as the primary antagonist in the upcoming Avengers films. Consequently, there is a possibility that the title "The Kang Dynasty" could undergo a revision. It should be noted that these details are mere conjecture at present. Although there is no official information available about the plot at present, the movie might draw inspiration from the Kang Dynasty comics event. This event comprised a 16-part storyline in the Marvel universe from 2001 to 2002. However, it remains uncertain if Marvel intends to further explore the Kang narrative.
Kang the Conqueror, a long-standing adversary of the Avengers, is set to achieve his greatest victory yet. In an epic battle to conquer Earth, Kang harnesses his vast and diverse armies from across different points in time. The fate of our planet now rests on whether the mighty Avengers can fend off this immense threat or succumb to defeat and fall under Kang's rule.
In Loki Season 1, Sylvie's actions led to the creation of multiple timelines, resulting in the emergence of Kang and his various versions across the multiverse. As a hard fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I am eagerly anticipating the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The announcement of this film has generated a lot of excitement among fans, and I believe it has the potential to be one of the most significant and epic films in the MCU.
